I already own the Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook, also created by Victoria Rosenthal, so I knew this was going to be excellent. I wasn't sure how she was going to tell a story about Street Fighter, a game with far less lore and world-building than FFXIV's Eorzea, but the narrative follows Sakura as she meets and fights (and chows down on street food) with characters from around the world. The concept is great, and little touches like C Viper making chili dogs for her daughter, and Dan wanting foods with the word "Dan" in it are inspired. There is so much loving attention to detail, not only in terms of the lore and character hints from the games, but even in terms of homage to the game's mechanics, I always look forward to Victoria's storytelling.

While this book is a great "fandom" cookbook with all that lore, it is also in-of-itself a fantastic cookbook. It includes tips and tricks for beginners, and recipes ranging from simple to complex. I am a fairly advanced cook, comfortable making most recipes (and some pastries), but I picked up a number of techniques that I now use outside of these specific recipes.

If you like cooking at any level, and if you're a fan of Street Fighter, definitely pick it up! Very excited to work through this book for lunch and dinner as I wait for SF6!

If you like cookbooks and street fighter for its colourful cast, you'll like this. If you don't like experimenting in the kitchen, I'd give it a pass.
It shows you a lot of fun recipes, from simple sandwiches and cocktails to some of the hardesr recipes I've seen.
It's as colorful and diverse as the street fighter cast.
