5.0 out of 5 stars A Strange Twist of Fate 29 March 2017
By R3 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
While this book has your typical romance elements of instant attraction between the main characters, it also has much more depth than so many romance stories. The romance plays a part, but there is also a well-thought out plot with Anna searching for her husband's murderer. There's more than that, too, but to tell you would spoil the story. The author has thrown in red herrings, so you'll have to look at the clues carefully. And I like the fact that it's "clean," no bedroom scenes to make you feel like a peeping Tom. It's well-written, the characters are ones you can relate to, and there's plenty of emotional ups and downs to keep you reading to the end.

I received a copy of this book through the Kindle Scout program.

5.0 out of 5 stars great romance with a touch of mystery 16 April 2017
By Anna del C. Dye - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This is a great romance with a touch of mystery, death and new beginnings. Anna is set to find her husband's murderer, although everyone thinks it was just an accident. All turns upside down when she is arrested for selling drugs. Thus she meets a cute detective and finds out that her father, the judge, has been keeping both eyes on her and her life for the past year.
When she is shot and admitted to the hospital, her father takes over and brings her to his house where she can't get in contact with the cute detective who has helped her in many things lately. Now being separated from each other doesn't set well with Lee and he is going to break her out.
A Strange Twist of Fate by Author Debra Erfert, is a interesting tale full of surprises, twists, romance and happy endings. The characters are charming, deadly and schizophrenic. Over all it is a great story, recommended to anyone who likes romance with their mystery. This is a clean romance.

MY TAKE
I received this book through Kindle Scout. I've read other books by Erfert and enjoyed them, so I was really looking forward to this one. I loved both Anna and Lee, and the story is full of fun secondary characters. I always enjoy it when other characters besides the mains are fun and interesting, and the author's note at the end of the book hinted of off-shoot series for Candice. Anna certainly had a great diversity of acquaintances.

This story, like its title, has some interesting twists.

5.0 out of 5 stars Young Widow's Investigation 13 April 2017
By You can call me Lynn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This is a Kindle Scout Winner in which I participated nominating. As such I received an Advanced Reader's Copy.

This is a mixture of Family Drama, Amateur Sleuth, and Romantic Suspense genres.

Anna became widowed at a young age. She doesn't believe the reports of her husband's death, so she investigates on her own. However, her plans are delayed after an incident or two find a police detective watching over her. Will she be able to finish what she started or will she be stopped in her tracks?

I loved how Ms. Erfert shared the viewpoints of both Anna and the detective. It helped give a wider view of things that were going on.

Warning: There is some Violence as well as Adult Language and Situations.

3.0 out of 5 stars Is It Worth It? 28 June 2017

I received a free copy of this book from the Kindle Scout program.

While I liked the overall idea of the book, and something did make me want to keep reading (mainly because I won it), I just can't say that I truly enjoyed reading it.
I found the romance a bit cheesy, and maybe that's just me because I don't read many romance books, but everything felt too rushed and a bit unrealistic for me. Speaking of cheesy, while the action was at times, surprisingly well-thought-out, the word "cheesy" came to mind again because it just felt exaggerated.
I will say I enjoyed Erfert's writing; however, in the end, it was just not a book that really sucked me in.
