I ended up reading it yesterday, after a couple of YEARS! The setting is my favourite, I like the Android world. However, honestly the story is not that good. In part it is interesting, but the endless flee of the main characters is very boring.
Moreover, for a non-native reader it is full of slang expressions mixed with the typical setting's words and some sentences are hard to figure out.
The other book, Golem, is slightly better.

This novel builds a lot of tension that I hope will be resolved in the following novels: Caprice's loyalty to the NYPD or Jinteki, Val's and Leah's largely unknown background that makes them take on a megacorp, Tally's search for justice vs. self preservation.

If you see this novel as a singular entity, it will probably leave many questions unresolved, but if you expect a sequel, it's quite a good opening to a trilogy.

I hope to learn more about Caprice, her personal development, the other clones, the inside of Jinteki and how clones interact with society.

Free Fall was too a-hero-saves-the-world for me. Strange Flesh puts some flesh (pun intended) on the story of psi-clones. It's great read and brings some fluff to the Android world. And Caprice Nisei is unforgettable.
