Product Description

Ten years ago Penelope Isabella Aaron had been a pain in Brock Mann’s you-know-what. Much has changed in a decade: “PIA” as he code-named her, has grown up and is about to attend her first Alliance of Planets summit conference, and Brock has been transformed into a cyborg after a near-fatal attack. Now a secret agent with Cyber Operations, a covert paramilitary organization, Brock gets called in, not when the going gets tough, but when the going gets impossible. So when he’s unexpectedly assigned to escort Penelope to the summit meeting, he balks at babysitting a prissy ambassador. But after a terrorist bombing, a crash landing on a hostile planet, and a growing attraction to his protectee, Operation: PIA may become his most impossible assignment yet.

I really enjoyed the way the author of this book balanced the delicate line between man and machine. It just goes to show, that even with a micro computer on board, a man still has a heart and needs!

This book was recommended by one of my favorite authors, Anna Hackett on her Facebook page this week. I picked it up as my book for the day and read it in my commute to and from work. I love it! It was action-packed from beginning to end. This was sort of a second-chance romance. Brock was a security detail to 16 year old Penelope many years ago when she earned her monicker, Pia which to him meant pain in the ass. It was also her initials. She got him into trouble back then but her mother being the president knew of her daughter's antics and exonerated him of Pia's false charges. Brock moved on to another agency and nearly lost his life. His only chance of survival was to become a cyborg. Fate had plans for both Penelope and Brock after 10 years when they met again and she was all grown up now and was newly appointed ambassador. She had regretted the things she said and did to him way back then and she was given the chance to make it up to him when once again, he became her security detail. Pia's life was in danger as she was identified as a target of a terrorist group. Someone needed to protect her on the most important mission of her life and who better protect her than a cyborg? I love second chance romances! Pia's character is smart and sassy and passionate. Brock is all alpha male with a heart. This is my kind of sci-fi romance.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Reading the Paranormal Review 1 May 2016
By Kelly Rubidoux - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
My cyborg love continues to run strong. Throw in a dangerous, uninhabited planet for them to shack up on and I'm blissing out. Because two people being stranded places hits my happy button. One of them being a cyborg just makes it more delicious.

Honestly, Pia's a wee bit headstrong. While I get where she was coming from as far as not wanting a bodyguard, she did take some bone-headed risks with her own safety. If not for her hunky protector, she would have ended up dead a couple of times over. Oh, and since I prefer Pia to Penelope, I'm sticking to calling her that.

Brock. Cyborgs are my weakness and this one didn't disappoint. He's fast. He's strong. He's determined to keep his distance from this particular woman. Until he doesn't. Then he's all about getting close. Until he remembers what he is. Huh. The guy sure does flip-flop a lot over how he should deal with Pia. I mean, I get why he needed to keep his secret a secret, but sometimes you just have to climb a tree and go to town with a lady. AS ONE DOES!

Terrorists of the intergalactic variety, super secret agencies trying to stop the bad guys from winning, and a couple who can't decide whether they need to keep their distance or get REALLY close made this one fun. Plus, you know, cyborgs. I JUST CAN'T RESIST THE CYBORGS!

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally a Cyborg who retained his human heart, soul and sense of humor! 6 October 2015
By C. Ann - Published on Amazon.com

I adore Cyborg romance stories and in my opinion there are not nearly enough of them written. That said, while I enjoyed the story tremendously I couldn't help but feel that something was missing. What that was exactly I'm not altogether sure, but I think that it was simply that the author missed an opportunity to cause a bit of tension by glossing over the fact that what Pia did was the catalyst that caused Brock's near death. You can't basically be the one responsible for putting someone in the position they were in when they nearly died and Not have that be any kind of factor later on. Having said that, I feel the need to point out that I still very much enjoyed the story overall. Brock may be a Cyborg but he doesn't act all mechanical, he has a sense of humor, and a sense of duty, even if Pia disrupts that duty constantly, if unintentionally. It is my personal hope that the author has plans to write many more Cy-Ops books. I will be adding this author to my follow list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Beginning for the Series 3 April 2017
By Jenna Jaxon - Published on Amazon.com

As with all the Cara Bristol books I've read, I loved the story and the characters. It was fast paced, had lots of twists and turns, and some very hot sex scenes. I came to care a lot about the characters, because they were well developed and true to life. Their chemistry sizzled and I found myself rooting for them all the way through. Great job! I'm heading over to grab the next one in the Cy-Ops series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Stranded with the Cyborg 20 May 2017
By AngelaC - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Fast paced, action packed romance in the world of the sci-fi. Penelope has a past relationship with Brock that did not work out. Now, part man/part machine, Brock is commissioned to protect an ambassador. When things go wrong (of course they are going to!) can Penelope and Brock work together to resolve issues, ensure the enemy gains no ground, and survive being stranded? Expect the unusual and the confrontational.
