About the Author

Donna David grew up in the West Midlands in a house full of noisy siblings, fun parents, mad aunties and maggots (her dad is a fisherman). She'd often be found reading by torch light way after bed time and this love of reading has never left her. She studied English at Loughborough University and currently works as an English coach at the local secondary school. She is married to an RAF pilot and she has worked closely with the charity Little Troopers on a series of picture books written for military children. Her first YA story, Bruised was published by Badger Learning in 2018. Donna loves writing for children and teenagers and thinks that a child's imagination is the best place in the world!

Laura Watkins graduated from the University for Creative Arts in 2011 with a BA (Hons) in illustration. Since then she has worked on a number of exciting publications, including QED's title What's In Your Pocket?. Outside of illustration, she has experience in art consultancy and has designed the walls of the NHS children's hospital in Lambeth.

OH NO, BOBO! by Donna David and Laura Watkins should be on the shelves of all schools and nurseries! This gentle story teaches young children about personal boundaries in a fun and accessible way that’s not at all preachy. Bobo the orang-utan is a delightfully endearing character who just wants to cosy up with the perfect pillow. But to get comfy, he tries to pinch a little bit of fluff or a feather, etc, from other animals, without thinking about whether or not they are OK with this. Only when he receives the same treatment from a little elephant who is also looking for something comfy to snuggle into, does Bobo realise that it’s important to ask before touching. The story comes to a most satisfying conclusion when Bobo finds his mummy—and realises that she is the perfect pillow, after all!
The artwork really pops off the page and I love the inky colours used to convey night-time in this lovely jungle setting. A super picture book that not only makes a great bedtime read, but is also ideal to use as an educational resource to nurture considerate personal behaviour towards others.
