About the author

Jan has written and illustrated 27 picture books, and that's not including the books she illustrated for other authors! Her books have been finding their way into little hands in many languages around the world, and she's the proud recipient of several awards.
Probably amongst her best-known work is the phenomenon that is "Mr Wolf's Pancakes" and the classic Christmas story "Little Robin Red Vest" – a celebration of kindness and selflessness in a world that badly needs it more than ever.
Please do check out the rest of her titles, because they're great!
When she's not writing, drawing or colouring-in, Jan spends her time trying to renovate an old farmhouse, and living a compassionate lifestyle. Jan shares her home in the heart of rural France with Mr Fearnley and a menagerie of rescued animals.
To date, her furry family include four hilarious goats (known as The Horn Section), two cheeky donkeys (The Bray Twins), six unspeakable cats (collective noun too rude to publish on here) and an adorable Caniche Royale – that's a huge poodle, if you don't speak French!
