Trinity Marrow doesn't let her vision stop her from doing anything. One of the most notable things for me, was that she never told Zayne about it until much later in the book. She is extremely resilient and longs for a life outside the Warden community.
Zayne and Trinity have an instant connection that they don't quite understand and the banter between them made me laugh on many occasions.
Peanut had me in hysterics and I do hope he takes on a bigger part as the series continues.
Bambi..... Boy, did I miss her.... Glad to see her make an appearance here and also hope we see her again!
Overall, I loved all the characters, new and old. The story line to me flowed quite well showing the spectrum of events that define Trinity. I found myself on the edge of my seat sometimes and at other points, I didn't want to turn to the next page due to the emotions that were going through me while reading....
You can read Storm and Fury without Dark Elements but in my opinion, read it first. The tension between all the older characters makes more sense if you do.
I have purchased my copy on Amazon AU.
The action, drama, romance and betrayal.... wow this book had it all!!
After finishing Roth and Laylas series I was super bummed to not have more to read in this world, but then finally this book released and bam I was back to loving the Wardens and a new character, Trinity.
Zayne stole my heart in the The Dark Elements series so I was so damn happy to read more about him.
Bring on book 2 of The Harbinger ❤
But I did love the twists and turns and will read the next instalment
Snappy, sarcastic, loveable characters. And happy as a clam to see a slice of Roth again.
Love this world!
I love love love Jennifer L. Armentrout's fantasy books! The world-building and her characters are always so well-written and perfect! I was a big fan of The Dark Elements series and was super excited when I came across this book last year! AND a MASSIVE THANK YOU to whoever created the is cover, it's so beautiful!
I really enjoyed Trinity as a character! Complete badass, strong, and unique! She also suffers from a degenerative disease that will lead to blindness. Which made her character more admirable as it didn't limit her strength and courage!
The thing I really liked about Zayne's character is that he isn't the typical YA male. That he's honest, loyal and gentlemanly. Also isn't a complete jerk towards the female protagonist and uses his unfortunate past as an excuse, but like damn, this boy deserves some loving!
I LIVED for the banter and flirting between Trinity and Zayne! They were so entertaining! Even though it was somewhat of an instant connection between the two, there was still a lot of development!
Peanut was one of my favorites within the book! He was one of Trinity's closest friends who also happens to be a ghost. I loved how this character brought humour into every scene he was in, no matter how serious it was!
LOVED the character cameos from the other books! Hope we get more of them in the future books!
Can't wait for the next book! Especially how it ended between Trinity and Zayne which will lead to one of my favorite tropes!!!!
This book was awesome! Could not put down! I would recommend reading The Dark Elements series first before this one as it would make a bit more sense! This has been a fun, action-filled and heartbreaking, yet heartwarming read!
***Thank you to Netgalley, Jennifer L. Armentrout and Harlequin Australia for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review***

Storm and Fury is about Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she's been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens--gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they'll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers.
When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity's safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she's ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again--but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity's secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she'll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed...
I had read the Dark Elements series and loved it, I loved Layla, Roth and Zayne, but I'm going to say something that people won't agree with...I loved this story a hell of a lot more than the Dark elements.
*throws hands over face*
From the moment I picked up this book I could not put it down, I had to know what was going to happen, I loved Trinity and I love Zayne, and them two together are awesome, and I can not wait to find out what will happen between them again.
I can't wait for the next one, please be June !!!
Happy reading :)
This was an easy read, I wasn't bored but not a stand out plot. It had a good twist at the end that I didn't see coming ( I really underestimated the author after the DE series, didnt I? Sorry!!).
Character-wise I really liked Trinity, she's impulsive, slightly selfish but an overall likeable character and much more interesting that Layla was, and Zayne has improved.
One of the characters has a medical condition I haven't seen in a book before which was really interesting to learn about (although it's not properly explained until very late in the book). Even though the author herself has this condition, the things the character did seemed a little ridiculous at times (able to hand to hand fighting but would then trip over pavements), but it is a fantasy novel I guess (may have sat better with me if her powers helped compensate rather than just instinct and practice), still I love to see diversity and more awareness of medical conditions!
Fyi-It does reveal quite a few spoilers for the dark elements series so you may want to read them first.
I really enjoyed this read and will definitely be reading book 2 to see what happens next. Hopefully won't have a slow a start as book 1.
Worth the read 💗
Zayne..was soll man zu Zayne sagen?
If you've read any JLA books in the past, Storm and Fury follows a similar style. You'd think after having read 11 books by her in the past, I'd be tired of it.
I thought so to. When I met Trinity, she reminded me so much of Alex from the Covenant series. I really didn't think j was going to enjoy it. But I devoured it ... in a day and a half.
I'm a sucker for any story that involves nephilim, demons and all that divine jazz. There's a reason I still watch Supernatural. Storm and Fury added the element of gargoyles, and I was hooked!
The world building was amazing. The characterization was brilliant. Trinity was more human than Alex, more vulnerable. She has more depth, which makes her one of my new favourite heroines.
I have not read the Dark Materials series, but I don't think I want to. I like Roth, but Layla seems annoying.
The supporting characters could have been fleshed out more, but Peanut all but made up for it. I loved that little ghostie and his sass.
Zayne ended up growing on me quite a bit, and I'm dying to know how things are going to work out for the poor guy dealing with what he can't have...again.
The writing and dialogue really draw you in....but it's JLA, she does witty banter like no other.
What, I did really enjoy was the moral commentary that was underlying in the story. It isn't anything new, but the concept of demons being good and people fearing what they don't know was showcased really well in certain scenes. I have read countless books with angels, but it's the first time I've read one where I rooted for demons.
I got serious Lucifer vibes, and I loved it.
I think I like this series better than Lux and Covenant, already. I really, really need it to be June...and then God knows how much longer till the next one!!!! Going to find another book to fill this void, bye.
