Product description

Product Description

A highly anticipated follow up to the history-making anthologies TWO WORLDS (Book One) and CALLED HOME (Book Two): Lost Children of the Indian Adoption Projects series, STOLEN GENERATIONS: Survivors of the Indian Adoption Projects and 60s Scoop offers more narratives on the history of land-taking and child theft/adoption projects in the name of Manifest Destiny in North America. These narratives make clear that Lost Children are not only survivors but resilient.

A collection of adoptees’ firsthand accounts and the historical background of the Indian Adoption Projects and 60s Scoop, along with pertinent news, quotes and bibliography, this new anthology has been edited by award winning journalist, adoptee-author Trace L Hentz (formerly DeMeyer). Ebook proceeds will benefit the IronEagleFeather Project for adoptees.

About the Author

Trace (DeMeyer) Lara Hentz, Stolen Generations anthology editor, has been in reunion with her birthfather's side for over 20 years. Poet, mosaic artist, author, professional blogger, this award-winning journalist is former editor of the Pequot Times in Connecticut and editor/co-founder of Ojibwe Akiing in Wisconsin. Her writing, interviews and poetry has been published in newspapers and journals in the USA, Canada and Europe. Her first book "One Small Sacrifice: A Memoir, Lost Children of the Indian Adoption Projects," broke new ground in 2009 and a second edition was published in 2012. (It's still in the Top 100 Native biographies on Amazon.) Stolen Generations is her third anthology in the Lost Children of the Indian Adoption Projects book series.
