Product Description

Product Description

This isn’t your typical story about boy meets girl then they fall in love and live happily ever after. No. This is a story about deception and betrayal at its finest. This is a story about hatred and attraction which does everything in its power to destroy two people.

Essie Horton is a woman who has lived through unspeakable things during her short life and when a prime opportunity presents itself, she dives right in, only concerned about herself and her objectives.

Drayden Warner is a man used to living the good life, bedding every beauty in sight, masking an empty existence, and hiding from a tragedy which happened years ago. Little does he know, his life will change forever when he meets the one woman who will possibly destroy him for good.

**Author's note** If you would like to read more about Eli Warner (Drayden's brother), his story, Torn, is now available

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book!!! 18 December 2014

I really enjoyed this book. It was so easy to get caught up in the story line. Once I started to read it I didn't want to put it down. Loved the characters! As I read I felt like I was experiencing what the characters were experiencing. I also laughed and cried as I read it. There were several surprises throughout the book. Hoping the author continues and writes a book about Eli. I see great things coming from this author and look forward to reading her next book.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 enjoyable stars 4 April 2015

3.5 stars*** At times I was lost in the story, other times I was just plain lost. I'll start with what I did enjoy. I liked Essie for the most part (only once did I really want to smack her lol) . Yes, she tries to deceive Drayden, but in knowing her history I can see why she did what she did. She's feisty and stubborn, which I love in a heroine. Then we have Drayden who for me was so close to being the perfect alpha male. I liked his bossiness and his possessiveness, even his moodiness. I also enjoyed watching him fight his feelings for Essie. I enjoy reading books where the h and H try to fight there attraction, it's what keeps it interesting. Plus the intimate scenes were hot. Now on to what didn't work for me. I'll be slightly vague as I don't want to give too much away. The way Drayden deals with the betrayal seemed a bit excessive to me. It wasn't like Essie actually got away with it. Also for the type of person Essie was I felt she went along with it a little too willingly. This is just my opinion though so do not let it deter you from reading it yourself. The part I struggled with the most though was that during a lot of the book we were just in Essie's head. I understand why, given the situation, but some of the secondary characters from the beginning just sort of disappeared with no explanation (for example the bodyguards). With that said, I think the Author is a good writer, as I said there were times I was really enjoying the story. I will try more of this Authors work in the future, I have no doubt this being her debut novel that the best is yet to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it. You will love it! 3 December 2014
By Runs with Scissors! - Published on

I am excited to leave the first review, and even more happy to gush about how wonderful this book is to read! I've read plenty a romance in my 49 years, believe me, but this is so much better. Why? Because it's real, it's edgy (but not too edgy), it's exciting, and best of all, filled with humor and love. Sappy love? nope. Predictable love? wrong again. This book has some really fun twists and turns that will leave you laughing out loud and wanting the second book, like RIGHT NOW! LOL

Add this one to your collection (and you know you have one) today - you will not be disappointed! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars they are from different backgrounds but they fall in love anyway' etc etc 3 December 2014

I was a beta reader (at Hot Tree Editing) for this story a while back and actually read it twice. It has such a unique premise ... one that I doubt you've ever read before. We often read stories about 'boy meets girl; they are from different backgrounds but they fall in love anyway' etc etc. Don't get me wrong ... I LOVE those stories, but Stolen Fate takes it to another level entirely! It is a wild, sexy ride that you will enjoy immensely! Teri McGill (Facebook:Teri McGill Author )
