I’ve been a father for almost 10 years now. I’ve read many books, articles, blog posts and plenty of parenting and child psychology material. My two boys are model students and are well behaved. But still I keep reading many parenting handbooks. So, when I tell you that “The Steps: 12 Secrets to raising happy and successful kids” by Dr. Andrew Watson and Dr. Charles Watson, two experts on the subjects of raising children, is a books that taught me a lot, that should carry some weight.
I bought it because a good and trusted friend was reading it and told me that she thought I’d like the book’s style. At first glance I thought it was another one of those books with lots of fluff and no content. The storytelling didn’t inspire me at first. Even though, I dug into it, because my friend would not recommend a book that wasn’t good, since she is expecting her fourth baby. She was right. The book is very good with plenty of dada. And, yes the book is unique, but helpful.
Dr. Michael Jansen, is the hero of the story. He is a brilliant neuroscientist and the owner of Awake Clinic. The tells Estela the 12 Steps throughout the story. The steps are very precious.
In a Nutshell: if you are expecting your first baby or an experienced father, you should read this fantastic book. It will five you some fresh ideas and insights on how to be a better parent and a better human being. You will benefit from the clear explanations and the practical how-tos.
