A enchanting epilogue of Ms Callaway's wonderful romantic adventure of all 3 series - bringing together the characters who have become a large family. Alaric and Emma, Duke and Duchess of Strathaven are hosting a New Year's celebration in the Scottish tradition. There are some undercurrents or misunderstandings - but all is shared with those family and friends that care so much for each other. Tessa Kent, married to Emma's brother-in-law Harry, doubts his love especially since Harry still hasn't arrived. A very poignant moment is when Harry arrives at midnight with his gift to Tessa - a baby ferret since her beloved Nick died. The common thread is love - the love for spouse, siblings, friends, children. The drift between Emma and her estranged brother Duke of Hadleigh brings some healing and will be addressed in her next great series. But I think the main theme is being together, helping others through adversities and celebrating together with joy! For 2020, a very challenging year for all, this novella brings hope and peace for better days in being together in our hearts!!
This book was too short and that’s my only complaint. I was so excited to get an update on Alaric and Emma which are two of my favorite characters. One of the best things about this book is the character personalities that come through. It gave a wonderful insight to the children of all the past characters and an update on where they are in life. I seriously thought that Emma was expecting due to her exhaustion but the final explanation definitely made sense. I hope February comes soon for the next book!
I’m so pumped for Olivia’s story coming this February!! Livy is a handful so it should be an exciting read.
