I really like Stanley products. They’re rugged, durable and I don’t think I’ll need to replace or update for a very long time. For me, buying items that are long lasting is important. We use the coffee pot camping and it’s brilliant. I was disappointed that the three items I ordered were placed loose in a box for delivery. They arrived with a small dent and chips to the enamel. I’d intended to use the items myself at work so minor damage was ok for me. Had they been gifts I’d have probably asked for replacements.

Gritty for life?
Reviewed in Canada on 7 February 2020Verified Purchase
I keep on drinking my coffee cold and I prefer french press... I'm tired of making extra garbage or compost with filters and glass french presses break given enough time. This product looks like it could last my lifetime but there's a catch.
So this is pretty much one of the only products out there that is insulated and full size so I won't be returning it despite a problem.
Grounds slip past the edge of the screen and contaminate the coffee worse than any glass press I've ever owned, not extreme and you can mitigate it by pouring with care but this is a comparison to about a half dozen different class presses. I might be able to bend the spring or replace the screen to stop stuff from slipping past, nobody else is making this product so I guess I'll have to try that.
Good job with minimal packaging Stanley... Similar containers usually cost less though, I think the price is a little higher due to low competition in this niche.
If you really don't like grounds in your coffee I suggest getting yours from a local brick and mortar store to facilitate return if the grittyness is a deal-breaker.

From a Stanley Lover - AVOID
Reviewed in Canada on 19 November 2020Verified Purchase
I own about a dozen Stanley mugs and products. Generally love them. This thing is a total joke. Both my original purchase, and replacement, had bent cross plates and the mesh was terribly uneven and fully of gaps. This thing, even on sale, is nearly double the price of comparable models and that sort of shoddy quality is not excusable.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, get a bad review and have me rethink my brand loyalty.

Would have given a 5-star review if they had done usability testing
Reviewed in Canada on 6 July 2020Verified Purchase
Keeps coffee warm for quite a while, very solid, and holds about 50% more than the average french press so that's good, we use it at home but would be great for camping as well. A couple of issues that prevent it from getting 5 stars:
- there is a line inside that seem like the obvious spot to fill to, but you will learn quickly that if you fill it to the line, then you get a bunch of grounds in your coffee. You can only fill to the spot *below* the line where the lining gets narrower. They should have had the lining go right to the top.
- there is a mark on the lid to show where to align the lid to pour, however the mark is a triangle that is very lightly engraved and barely visible unless you turn it to just the right angle in the right light, and good luck finding it if the lid is wet from rinsing. The mark should be engraved deeper and/or coloured in black to contrast against the silver.

An excellent French Press for RVing and Off Grid Life
Reviewed in Canada on 5 October 2020Verified Purchase
Steel kitchenware always beats glass for durability. This product is solid and easy to use. A typical glass French press does not feature insulation, so the coffee will go to ambient temperature. On a chilly morning that can happen quite rapidly. This Stanley French press has insulation properties that keep the coffee piping hot for a few hours regardless of chilly air. It is a French press after all, so it is not designed to be airtight nor seal from leakage or spilling. It is not intended to be used like a fully insulated carafe or vacuum bottle. For RVing and off grid lifestyles, a Stanley French press is item one, while a good manual coffee bean grinder is second and some insulated no-spill mugs and/or an insulated, sealable carafe are important if great French pressed coffee is required while driving or being active. Great product. Before assembly, take it completely apart for washing and take the time to form the screen filter and plunger items by hand to fit the pot tightly.
