I didn't know what to expect from this book... I got it from amazon for free but I'm glad I did.
It's a short story but it makes you have faith. A chance encounter can turn an awful day into a bright future.
I needed to read this to make me remember that.
Against all hopes Tom has flown crosscountry to a job interview only to find out he is too ordinary for that hipster place at San Francisco. His homeward journey turns into another disaster, him being shoveld from one standby position to the next instead of actually flying anywhere. On his unplanned overnight at the airport he meets Rafale and suddenly nothing is ordinary anymore.
With just a few words Kim Fielding well describes Tom's exhaustion and frustration of being so helpless in that airline seat catching roulette. Knowing well how that feels, I totally agree that airports at night are rather creepy places. The AC is trying to shock-frost you while you wander aimlessly through the empty corridors and halls because sleeping in those uncomfortable plastic chairs is even less appealing. When Tom meets Rafael, I am pretty sure, he (and I) can't really say if its all a dream only. When the morning dawns Tom is still that normal guy but with more confidence, emitting friendly energy.
Thank you very much for this sweet story with two unusual MCs and enough spare room for my own imagination dear Mrs Fielding! A short story after my liking and already on my Kindle re-reading list
This is a cute quick story of a chance meeting in the middle of the night in an empty airport. I like that things seem at their lowest, but that's when opportunity is the greatest. Seems kinda wierd where the friend comes from, but miracles happen everyday.
