I have a very unruly beard - It grows in all sorts of weird direction with lots of random little singular pokie-outies all over that standard beard wax alone just can't handle. If I don't tame it every day, I look like a crazed wizard.

If you are like me, I've got a pretty good routine for you -

As soon as you get out of the shower, apply beard balm while your beard is still moist - not sopping wet - moist (I use Honest Amish, works great). Let that dry before doing anything else to it - Applying wax too early don't work so good. Keep the Stache Bomb tin in your pocket while you wait for your beard to dry, then work a bit of wax across all your fingertips and smooth that down over your beard, styling it as you see fit while doing so. A little goes a long way!

A soft wax.

I had initially purchased Firehouse brand wax and liked it, but wanted to try some other brands just to see which one I liked the best. This wax is much softer than the Firehouse wax, which makes it much easier to apply, but also doesn't provide as much hold. If you want to put some serious curl on your moustache, go with Firehouse, but if you just want to keep a few unruly hairs in place, this wax might do the trick.

Once applied, this wax stays soft. It has a mildly oily feel, but it's not unpleasant. It feels like my moustache is being conditioned from it.

My girlfriend prefers the smell of this wax over the Firehouse brand. The Stache Bomb wax has a light citrus-y fragrance and is very pleasant.

Also, it's made in the USA, so that's a bonus.

All in all, this wax is nice, but doesn't provide the hold for curling the ends of my moustache. It DOES keep the few unruly hairs in line, and I think it would work well on sideburns and beards as well.

I bought this based on a recommendation from some random review website that said this was the best mustache wax available. I personally like the scent, but the wax only holds for 5 minutes. Then for the rest of the day at work I'm fighting with my wiskars to keep them out of my mouth. Finally a co-worker saw my struggle and told me about another brand on Amazon that has a really strong hold and now I'm using that and it is 100x better. I can't recommend this one, though.

Ok so step 1) heat with hairdryer. If you’re serious about shaping your mustache you’re using a hairdryer. Listen; I love my wife, I chop wood, can rebuild a carbureto, etc, but I own a hair dryer for my mane. Am I a woman for doing so? No. Anyways melt the wax a bit and then apply and shape. 2) put the lid on the tin and put it in your pocket for touchups through the day. Great stuff. Five stars.

This stuff is great and provides a firm hold once in place. It is pleasantly scented, and the tin is small enough to carry around in my jeans pocket without being conspicuous.

Some claim you need to warm it (using warm water, a hair dryer, etc.) before using it, but I've found that to be unnecessary. Simply rubbing your finger or thumb rapidly on the surface of the wax creates enough friction to soften it. [At first, I used the enclosed guitar pick to scrape some out before rubbing it between my fingers, but found the other method simpler.]
