Lee McCormick and Mary Faulkner have written a spectacular took for people in recovery to reconnect with spirit. Lee has built a new and successful recovery system on the theory that it is not enough to quit drinking or drugging or whatever one's addiction might be. The behavior was adopted to fill a hole in the soul, and it must be replace by something that works better and is not an addiction. What works better is connection to spirit, a spirit filled life.
This book is divided into two parts. The first is Lee's personal story of addiction and recovery. It's a powerful story because he is a fascinating and unusual man. And, as he says, "there is more to recovery than counting clean days." This amazing guy is a successful cattle rancher, musician, spiritual leader, and recovery professional. Reading his story is a kick in the pants.
The second part is a collection of recovery tools by Mary Faulkner. As a connoisseur of spiritual literature, though not necessarily of the literature of recovery, I was surprised to find new stuff there that I had not encountered previously. Some of the exercises were similar to other techniques that I was familiar with, but all had a little different twist. And some were completely new. I'm not an addict of alcohol or drugs, but everybody is recovering from SOMETHING, and I'm going to try some of these exercises. I can recommend this book as a terrific read and and a useful tool for getting your life and mind right,
