Product Description

Ally Marshall isn’t just a wolf shifter—she’s a Seer. But a girl doesn’t exactly need special powers to know that Derren Hudson despises her entire kind. Disdain practically rolls off the Beta of the Mercury Pack…disdain mixed with a healthy dose of desire. And no matter how much the ruggedly handsome male appeals to her, this is one call of the wild she’s determined to ignore.

After one betrayal too many, Derren doesn’t have much use for Seers—except for Ally. Forced into acting as her protector, he finds himself intensely and passionately drawn to the woman who incites his primal instinct to claim. And when enemies target the pack, Ally’s gift may be just what the Mercury Pack needs. Can he put his distrust aside, or will he force himself to turn his back on the one woman who makes his inner beast howl?

I'm not sure if it was because I wasn't really expecting to like this one much that it surprised me with how good I found it! Really like Ally I thought she had incredible strength and independence and an awesome sense of humour. Being a seer gave her special gifts that come in handy but like any culture there are those who judge everyone for a few individuals mistakes and Ally certainly wasn't immune to other peoples prejudices against seers. I thought she handles those with dignity and her true character shone through.
Derren grew on me after he got over the whole hate he had for seers and I thought he made a good match with Ally. Most of the conflict centred around Ally and the females and I thought their interrogation skills were fantastic! The plot was good, even if a tad predictable but still had me wanting to turn the pages.
Loved meeting Cain and Ally's uncles and seeing all the others from the Phoenix Pack, overall a good read. Looking forward to the next in the series.

I often read a book and then wait a few days before reviewing it. I find that my thoughts are clearer given time. Unfortunately, this book left no great impression at all. I had to read the blurb again to remember the story.
I think that one of the things that I had difficulty believing was that seers were shunned and disliked by the packs. The other thing was that Ally wouldn't ask her 'uncles' for help when she really needed it.
So, thinking it over, I give it three stars because it was ok to pass the time but not great. Thinking back, I'm pretty certain that I got this book for nothing or a $, and I see that the price is now $5+. I don't think that it's worth that.
Recommended for mature readers.

Those who have read and enjoyed the Phoenix Pack series will enjoy this too as it is pretty much the same series. While the novel does stand alone, every will make more sense if you need the first four books of that series first.

Amazing!!! But all of Suzanne Wrights books are epic. Miss Wright always gets me to swoon, laugh, cry and beg for more. I love and adore her alphas and her strong female leads. I cannot wait for more from this author!!!
