Product description

Product Description

"Spinal Breathing Pranayama" is one of the most important practices in all of yoga, producing positive effects in our health, wellbeing, and every aspect of our daily living. Moreover, this simple daily practice purifies and opens us to our ecstatic inner realms, taking us on an exciting journey to Inner Space. The consequences of this journey are as practical as they are profound.

This book provides easy-to-read instructions for beginning and continuing with the practice of "Spinal Breathing Pranayama," addressing in a surprising degree of detail the many experiences and questions that can come up.

Yogani is the author of two landmark books on the world's most effective spiritual practices: "Advanced Yoga Practices - Easy Lessons for Ecstatic Living," a comprehensive user-friendly textbook, and "The Secrets of Wilder," a powerful spiritual novel.

The "AYP Enlightenment Series" makes these profound practices available for the first time in a series of concise instruction books. "Spinal Breathing Pranayama" is the second book in the series. The first is "Deep Meditation – Pathway to Personal Freedom."

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to follow 28 July 2013

The whole series of books by Yogani are well thought out, really well written, and simple to follow. I found this book on a specific breathing technique quite helpful. The technique is simple, which I like. All details of practice and any ways to handle odd and/or beneficial effects experienced along the way, are explained very well. There is some repetition in the series regarding the process of nervous system purification and some possibly distracting effects and how to handle them, but after reading most of these books, I simply skimmed over those sections. The books are quick to read, and approximately 100 pages each, so I could get through them in one sitting or two and then, of course, went back to check some details as necessary. The breathing technique is the key to starting this spiritual practice program. It is the basic foundational process upon which all else builds. One must learn this prior to meditating, as it assists to quiet the mind enough to start meditation. I immediately purchased these books as a gift because I liked them so much.

Valuable information for growing on the journey toward self-mastery. Everyone needs to take 5 minutes daily to do this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Come, enjoy spinal breathing with me 10 March 2008

I was suspicious of the 5-star reviews by people who apparently read only this author, but I bought the book anyway because I enjoy breathing. This book teaches a simple method of breathing that nearly anyone can practice nearly anywhere. The author recommends doing the practice for five minutes, twice daily, but as you grow more attuned to your breathing, you will probably start breathing more deeply and efficiently even when not doing full-on spinal breathing. You do not need to know how to meditate or do yoga to enjoy spinal breathing. I found the book well written and edited, with sufficient detail but no longer than it needs to be.

Yogani is very scientific in his approach. He uses the analogy of cars. You don't need to know the inner workings of a car to drive it. Similarly you don't need to know the inner workings to do Spinal Breathing Pranayama. Just do it.

This book teaches a very simple breathing exercise that you can do anytime any where, which is extremely effective in improving your well being. Thank you Yogini for writing this book. I find myself doing this practice often and it brings instant relaxation, energy and feeling of well being.
