Product description

Product Description

Spencer Cohen is the guy who gets answers to relationship questions. Playing the role of the new lover, his job is to make his client’s ex realise one of two things: he doesn’t want to break up or he really does. Either way, his client gets answers.

The ex would either apologize and beg, or turn and walk. But in the end, Spencer’s client won. If he wanted his ex back and got him, it was great. If the guy walked away, then as hard it was for the client, he knew it was over. Regardless of the outcome, Spencer’s work was done.

Andrew Landon’s ex left him without so much as an explanation. But his sister can’t stand to see him miserable, so, much to Andrew’s dismay, they hire Spencer to be Andrew’s new boyfriend to get the ex back.

For Spencer, it is never personal. Merely a business transaction. No emotions, no strings, no complications.

Yeah right.

Even a blind man could see how this would end.

This series is just outright adorable! Spencer is just one of my favs and along with Andrew is just incredible as a couple.
I was really intrigued by the Spencer’s job. It was so completely different in job roles to any other book that I have read before and that is what helped make this book just so different to other books. We don’t have the billionaire or the construction work or the doctor. We have this preppy and sexy looking “relationship fixer”. It was such a great idea for the author to do choose this as a career. Well done on this part, loved it.
It’s during this role that Spencer meets Andrew and what a connection! The banter was just perfect and so spot on. Being an Aussie myself I loved that Spencer was Australian and his use of Aussie slang words was just brilliant.
I really, really enjoyed the whole of the 3 books. They are sweet, romantic, antsy and honest. Please, please keep writing MM Romances as you do such a fantastic job with complex and wonderful characters and incredible storylines. This is a feel good, romance with a HEA and we all love those!

A wonderful introduction to the series. I really loved getting to know both guys and their instant attraction. Spencer captured my heart from the beginning, super cool, living in LA but still keeping his Aussie side. I love his patience and and the slow building burn with Andrew. It's going to have me on the edge of my seat to see where they go in the next book but I'm so thankful to the author that we won't have to wait too long. Original concept, lovable MC's and a great supporting cast, what's not to love.

I love NR Walker. I can't believe I waited so long to read her books. They have all been fantastic. Awesome characters you can't help but love who are flawed in the most beautiful ways.
Spencer was such a breath of fresh air. This was such a funny, smart, amazing and sweet book about getting to know someone and it just made me happy. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, geeky Andrew might just be one of those shy, quiet guys that you have to watch out for ;) 22 February 2016

Spencer and Andrew are both very intriguing. I loved Spencer's fascination and attraction to Andrew. He loved Andrew's ivy league geek exterior and then little by little other layers were revealed and Spencer's connection and attraction steadily grew. I also found Andrew fascinating. Dreamworks animator, pianist, shy at times, but confident and a bit bossy at other times. I admit I want to see if the bossy and confident side of Andrew carries over to the bedroom. Hoping it does ;)

This is the first book in the series, and there wasn't sex, but that was okay. There was building attraction and tension and banter. Sexy comments that make you smile and laugh, and draw you in. Everything worked and I didn't miss anything. However, I am anxious for what's to come.

I really felt the connection between Andrew and Spencer, they have a lot in common and they enjoy each other's company as well as extended friends and family. It was a very interesting cast that I think added a lot to the charm of their story. I smiled and probably laughed out loud a few times. Andrew's shy blushing moments and then segueing into some shocking comment and his random bossiness, totally did it for me. Spencer said something toward the beginning of the book about how it's always the quiet ones that are surprising. That might just be the case with Andrew once we get to see a bit more from him. It definitely shows promise though. The ending was great for me. Without giving spoilers I'll just say that I enjoyed the real emotion that Andrew saw from Spencer, it was touching.

I'm anxious to spend a lot more time with these two guys. Very enjoyable. Spencer and Andrew are a great couple. :) Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Has outspoken aussie transplant Spencer met his match in geeky, artistic Andrew? The Spencer Cohen Series, Book One 1 March 2016
By Workman - Published on

The only thing I knew before starting Book One of The Spencer Cohen Series is 1) beautiful cover and 2) N.R. Walker wrote it.

There are a few authors that I will auto-purchase and N.R. Walker is one of them and so far her writing is 100%. There is not a book of hers that I have not loved and Book One of Spencer and Andrew's story did not disappoint.

Artistic Andrew is dumped by his boyfriend/fiance and his sister contacts Spencer (boyfriend for hire) to help Andrew find closure from his Ex. Loved the character build up with Andrew - a geeky, shy artists with a bit of a dominant side and Spencer - tattooed, witty, outspoken Australian transplant who is shy of commitments.

The humorous dialogue between the two MCs is wonderful and helps the flow of the story, banter and tension for the first book in this series. I can not wait to see what's next for Spencer and Andrew in Books 2 & 3.

I highly recommend you read Book One of The Spencer Cohen series, book 2 is due out the middle of March 2016 and book 3 is due out middle/end of April 2016. You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Obsessed!!! 21 April 2016

“I wanted to reach out and touch him, to kiss him. God, I wanted to taste that mouth. But that’s not what this was.”

5 pretend boyfriend stars! Words cannot describe how fantastic this book/series is!!

Spencer Cohen has a fabulous life, after moving from Australia to L.A., he has amazing friends as well. His job is a little less than normal, he’s hired to pretend to be the boyfriend of men or women, looking to win an ex back. Strange… I know but it totally works. He’s hired by the sister of Andrew, looking to win back his ex Eli. Spencer has never had a problem with his job before or “falling” for his customers. But the minute he meets Andrew, he knows there’s something there. Has Spencer finally found the one?? The more time that Andrew and Spencer spend together, the more their attraction grows, but Spencer isn’t sure if Andrew is really into him, or if he’s playing it up for Eli’s benefit. And let me tell you that ending will leave you thirsty for more!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliant read 26 February 2016

Well wow! As with every story I've read of this author, from the get-go, I was along for the ride. Spencer Cohen, Aussie boy made good in LA, his role as the new (but fake) love in his clients' lives leading him to meet Andrew Landon. Of course there's more the tattooed, trendy Spencer and the handsome geek in Andrew than meets the eye, and I loved discovering every little detail about these two.

I love me some UST and this book hit the mark to perfection, the way they danced around each other, skirting anything too personal until Spencer's carefully constructed wall begins to crumble.

This author has quickly become one of the few I auto-click, because no matter the story, it's always guaranteed to be a fantastic read.

For anyone out there who hasn't read N.R. Walker? As Molly Meldrum would say, 'do yourself a favour'. You won't be disappointed.

I look forward to hearing more from these boys :)

In book one, we meet Spencer when he is hired to be Andrew's pretend boyfriend so he can try to win his ex back. From the moment they meet you can see the attraction between them. They strike up an easy and playful friendship and have a tendency to forget why they are 'together'.

Another very well written story by NR Walker! While I am not normally fond of 'serial' stories, I gave this one a chance because I love all her other books. While I did think the books were a little pricey, I thought the story was SO worth it.
