Mercedes Luna quits her job to learn Spanish in Madrid. She finds out that learning Spanish takes much more than memorization and is more challenging than she could have imagined. The desire to learn Spanish took her on a journey to Spain but it was also an emotional journey where she felt isolated and alone in a new culture among people with whom she could not connect with easily. Mercedes shares her experiencing dating in a foreign culture and her emotional struggles. There is a constant hope of achieving fluency in Spanish. At what point is someone fluent in a language?
