Product Description

He’s suffering in silence...
Teague Carter, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has spent his life feeling rejected. To the point that he has never allowed himself to get close to anyone. He prefers it that way, in fact. But he refuses to believe that his destructive behavior might be something more than rebellion.

He’s unable to speak...
Hudson Ballard, Pier 70’s mechanic, has been fighting his attraction to Teague for years. He has stood by and watched the kid get more and more out of control, but this time is the last. If Teague wants to use sex to escape his problems, Hudson is certainly willing to be the one to show him that he’s good with more than just his hands.

Sometimes words aren’t necessary.
There are fireworks when this out-of-control bad boy agrees to no strings with this tatted up, dominating mechanic.

Can Teague and Hudson keep their emotions from getting involved in their arrangement? Or -- thanks to the demons from their pasts -- will the darkness steal from them before they have a chance?

Yes! Hudson and Teague are the story that I have been waiting for since this series began.

And to me, it was the best in the series!

Hudson and Teague have been doing the mating dance around each other for as long as they can remember. But neither has taken the leap to take thing further, both believing that their attraction is one sided.

Teague has been so wrapped up in himself and things from his past that he doesn't believe that he can love, or can be loved. He has his one night stands, never letting emotion in.

Until Hudson. Mute since birth, there is so much this man can say with just a look.

And just one kiss.

**Fanning myself - did it just get hot in here??**

Actually, Speechless is more than just sexy man on man action - though there is plenty of that.

This book touches on some deeper, darker issues that as a society we all need to speak up about. Depression, suicide, mental illness all play a pretty big part in this story. Sometimes things in this book hit pretty close to home for me, and I had to read through big fat tears.

I loved that we got more of the couples from the first two books, and how all of their lives are so interwoven that we just can't have another story without learning more about them also.

The more I read of this series and of Ms Edwards works, the more I love them. Each book in this Pier 70 series just gets better and better, and I hope we get more soon.

*For anyone who has depression, please talk to someone about it. You don't need to be alone in this. I suffer myself and would not be here without the love and help of my family and friends*

Nicole Edwards has become one of my automatic one-click authors, and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

I was really looking forward to reading this book after having read books one and two in the series, and I wasn't disappointed.
OMG, I loved this book. I loved Teague and Hudson together. Hudson just made my heart melt with how caring he was toward Teague, how patient he was. And Teague? He made my heart cry for him, for all he had been through in the past. I just wanted to get there and mother him for a bit until he felt loved.
I love how this author writes an MM story, the steam she puts in and the story each character has. I feel a connection with each character and get drawn in so much that I hate when the story ends. The only thing that saves me is knowing that we will get to see these characters again in future stories in this series

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Deep, Emotional, Yet Hot Love Story 8 June 2016
By Anonymous Reviewer - Published on Amazon.com

While each of these books are standalone, it is nice that each of the characters are connected. If however, you start in the middle of the series with a book, Nicole is good at giving you a quick overview during each book so you won't be lost along the way, but not long enough to drag it down for readers of the series.

I have been WAITING for Teague and Hudson's story from the beginning of the #Pier 70 series and FINALLY have it!

Teague is part owner of the #Pier 70 Marina and also works in the shop helping Hudson with boat repairs and helping with tours as needed. Hudson is ten years older than Teague and is mute; he can hear, he just can't speak and hasn't been able to since birth due to a birth defect.

These two have an immense attraction to each other, however seem to also have an immense dislike for each other...or so it seems. They also live in two separate apartments above the marina across the hall from each other, which causes some problems (and fun) during this intense love story.

This story isn't just about two men coming to understand each other and how to open up to someone about your past and what makes you tick, it goes SO MUCH DEEPER than that. It touches on the subject of depression and the many forms of it. It touches on other subjects that depression can cause. It touches on how important it is to have the love of FAMILY (blood or not) and TRUE FRIENDS during times of deep emotional turmoil and depression.

This book also gives us one BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY. One I wouldn't have missed for anything. Nicole Edwards didn't disappoint me. She pulled a beautiful, deep, emotional story from herself in writing this. I was so touched and moved.

I cried, I laughed, I got hot...And I cried some more. And in the end...

I smiled and was happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart, Sexy, Sweet, Fun, Dark 12 March 2017
By Cheri - Published on Amazon.com

I knew from the moment I met them in Reckless that I wanted to read a story about Teague and Hudson. Somehow, I was not prepared for how much I would love them. Both of these men just blew me away.

The understanding and patience that Hudson seemed to have for Teague, even when Teague was acting like a bratty child, was beyond the call of duty. But once I got to see inside of Teague, see the things he’s gone through in life, he just tore me up. By keeping his personal life so private, even once he was getting sexually intimate with Hudson, was not doing Teague any favors. It caused people (not just Hudson) to do things they didn’t even realize were hurting him.

Nicole Edwards strikes a wonderful balance between smart, sexy, sweet, fun, and dark in this story. There are some serious issues that both the heroes have to deal with. They both had moms that, quite frankly, let them down. It’s a testament to how everyone reacts differently to things that Teague and Hudson look at their moms with totally different ideas of why things were done. Sure, it also has to do with their ages and Hudson having a loving brother that never left his side as he was growing up. But it also has to do with personality and chemical make-up.

I was grateful that the author made sure that the reader understands Depression is a medical condition, just like any other. There is such a stigma about this disease even by those that suffer from its brutal claws. And while the story goes about letting people know this is a disease, it doesn’t ignore the fact that friends (even those with the best of intentions) can sometimes look at you as if you’re going to break once they know you are suffering. This story shows all angles of this terrible disease and I appreciate the effort the author went through to be sure of that.

As I said, there is a good balance to this book. Although it’s dealing with a very serious issue I never felt as though it was too bleak or dark as to suck me under. A lot of that has to do with Hudson and his need to take care of others. He would say it’s a need to dominate, but that dominant side is also quite the nurturing side of him. The way he allows Teague to slowly come to him with a mixture of demands and acceptance is a beautiful thing. He realizes quite early on that the thing with Teague will never be able to remain casual and yet he know such an admission will scare Teague so he bides his time. He pushes then waits, pushes some more and waits some more. He is definitely a master of a slow seduction; which made the numerous quick interludes between the two men all the hotter for the anticipation.

If you’re a fan of the other series in Nicole Edwards’ library and have read Ethan, this story touched me the way that story did. There are just so many emotions and a sort of protective instinct that is brought out by their stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the series so far! 22 July 2016
By Sam Jo - Published on Amazon.com

Speechless is the 3rd book in the pier 70 series. To fully understand all the characters and the background of the stories I recommend reading from the beginning, Reckless. See below for the links to the other two books reviews.

We were introduced to both Teague and Hudson in the first book. As the series went on the more curious I became of them. You knew there was something there but neither one wanted to admit or act on it.

Hudson is a big gorgeous man with tattoos that works in the repair shop at the marina. What intrigued me about him is that he is a mute. I was curious to see how his story would go. I absolutely adored Hudson. He is so sweet and loyal. You can’t help but fall for him.

Teague is quite the opposite. He is 10 years younger than Hudson. He is also hit or miss when it comes to his moods. He does not do or want a relationship no matter if it’s sexual or other wise. He kinda comes off as a jerk. There are things that Teague has had to deal with that made him build these walls and not allow anyone to close. He is extremely attracted to Hudson. Which only seems to make him more irrate and come off as he can’t stand to be around him.

Hudson has been patient with Teague. Ever since the night on the ship it has gotten harder for him to control the attraction he has towards Teauge. When Hudson finally has enough, he confronts Teague which ends with an earth shattering kiss. This sets off a series of events to come. When Teague argrees to Hudson’s arrangement, he thinks it’s strictly for sex. Only Hudson has other ideas: he won’t be just used for sex and left. He will find away to break Teauges’s walls down.

If you have read my other reviews for Nicole Edwards books then it is no suprise I love her work. I love each book in the Pier 70 series but Speechless has become my favorite of the three. It is a beautiful love story that has real life issues. There are some heart wrenching moments that make you feel deeply for both of these men. Hudson is such a wonderful man; I love how supportive and patient he was with Teauge. It was surreal to watch as Teauge learns that you can depend on others and that life doesn’t have to be deeply impacted by the past. You can live for the future. Speechless does have heavy subjects that are very emotional but there are still many funny moments.

One of the things I love about Nicole Ewards’s series is that we get to keep seeing the previous characters and the ones who will have stories to come. I can’t wait for book 4. I am hoping that Roan will finally get his story heard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nicole did not disappoint. Their story was amazing 8 June 2016

I received an ARC for an honest review. I've been reading this series from the beginning and Hudson and Teague's story is the one I have been looking forward to the most. Nicole did not disappoint. Their story was amazing. It was gritty and raw and so amazingly real in a way few authors can pull off. Just like always, her characters are so real it feels like they're your friends at the end of the book. This book deals with very hard subjects that affect many people and it was done in a great way. You could feel Teague and Hudson's pain but it wasn't so over the top as to be unbelievable. And of course, these two are smoking hot together. Another great read, I would recommend it to anyone!
5.0 out of 5 stars Teague and Hudson.....love the pier 70 men! 12 June 2016
By Jeanine Levy - Published on Amazon.com

Teague and Hudson's story is such a good one. 2 people who thought they didn't need love and found it anyway. They both had reasons for not wanting more but their hearts had a different idea. Teague is the youngest of the pier 70 group, he is the easy fun guy, never has anything serious relationships. Hudson is the mechanic of pier 70, he is mute but can hear. Teague and Hudson work side by side but Teague is the only one of the pier 70 guys that hasn't learned to sign to communicate with Hudson. He has a lot of anger , especially towards Hudson...but their is a spark there between them. They share a kiss that was unforgettable one night, but Teague does not remember. Tension is even tighter between them and something breaks...they kiss again and then a proposition is offered by Hudson....Teague agrees. What they thought was supposed to be just sex turns into something so much more! Teague has some major emotional issues that he handles the wrong way that makes them both and all their friends at pier 70 realize they didn't see things right in front of them. What an emotional but great story of love unexpectedly finding 2 people!
