**Winner of the National Indie Excellence Award for Romantic Comedy**

When your back is against the wall, can you change the person life’s experiences have molded you to be?

Fiona Pierce is many things to many people. Dutiful daughter to her loving parents, fiercely loyal friend to her very tolerant bestie, half-assed employee to her laundry list of bosses, and dedicated fashion goddess and spreader of good cheer to the world at large. But Fiona is hiding something behind her irresistible smile – something she’s determined to keep to herself.

Mark Beckett doesn’t do complicated. Saddled with lingering baggage from his childhood, Mark sails through life one girl at a time – with frequent gym breaks in between. He likes his life just how it is and doesn’t see any need to change his work-hard/play-hard attitude.

When an unexpected blast from the past threatens to turn his family's life upside down, Mark finds help in the unlikeliest of places – specifically the pint-sized princess who has a knack for pushing his buttons.

Can you overcome your fears and embrace the happiness you might just deserve? And, perhaps more importantly, can you really fall in love with someone who is so damn insufferable?

Find out in The Spark by Sylvie Stewart.

The Spark is the much-awaited second book in the Carolina Connections series from Sylvie Stewart. The Fix (Book 1) and The Lucky One (Book 3) are currently available, and Book 4 is due for release Fall 2017. All books can be read as standalones with big, fat HEAs!

This book contains adult language and sexual content inappropriate for readers under 18.

"Fun, fulfilling and fast-paced, Sylvie Stewart's latest book, The Spark, is also a masterclass in how to write a strong, sexy heroine with a hint of vulnerability that a reformed playboy hero simply can't resist." - After the Rain Comes Sunshine Blog

"I'm not sure where to start! This was such a fun read, I giggled almost all the way through this book with a few aww moments thrown in with some tears. This is a must read then reread and then maybe just one more time type of story. The characters are so adorable you can't help but smile at their craziness. I wish they were real so we could hang out all the time, I'm sure my face would hurt from all the laughing but it would so totally be worth it. Grab yourself a copy and enjoy the ride, you won't be disappointed!" - Loves Great Reads Blog

"The Spark is a fun filled and entertaining novel that left me feeling satisfied! [Sylvie Stewart] clearly has a knack for bringing her characters to life and making us want to get to know them on a deeper and personal level." - Pretty Little Book Reviews

"...interesting and realistic romance story which was well written and had great dialogues between the fun characters. Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop." - Chantal Bellehumeur, Author of Past Lives

"It's romantic comedy at its best. The pacing makes this a lightning fast read, yet it did not feel rushed at all. The dialogue zings and the characters have a good amount of depth to them." - Vikki Vaught, Author of The Montgomery Family Trilogy

If you like funny romance novels, romantic comedy chick lit, or new adult romance with sex, this romantic comedy series is for you!

Sylvie Stewart just has the knack for writing great romantic comedy. Book one was just the best and this one is just as good.

Fiona Pierce has loving and devoted parents but she feels obligated to do the right thing when they ask. She has great friends and she is fiercely loyal to her best friend Laney but she hides a secret from her past that she doesn’t want to share. Fiona has a huge heart and she will do anything she can for anyone she holds dear. Fiona loves the finer things in life especially the gods of clothes and shoes. Everyone just loves this quirky lovable woman except for one man. One man that finds her totally annoying who she just loves to push his buttons. She doesn’t do relationships but there is one man she loves to hate.

Mark Beckett loves women but never more than once that way there is absolutely no complications in his life. Between work, women and the gym he is happy with his lot in life, all except his past. A past that he would like to forget. A past that is now back to haunt him and his family and turn it on his head. Not only having to deal with his past he has to deal with a meddling do gooder that he loves to hate.

Can Mark and Fiona overcome their past and their fears and learn to put their trust in the one person that may understand them more than they know? Will love be found in the most unlikely places?

As with book one this book had me laughing out loud at the banter between all the characters, but especially between Mark and Fiona. I also love Fiona’s internal dialogue it is absolutely hilarious. The Spark is full of fun, intrigue, love, laughter and is 100 percent pure entertainment. I love the way Sylvie brings her characters to life and makes you feel you are a part of their lives. I highly recommend this book to one and all and can guarantee you will not be disappointed

I loved this book. It definitely deserves more than 5 stars, if I could I would give it more.
This is the second book in The Carolina Connection Series but it’s the first book I have read and it was easy to follow I found that I didn’t need to have read the first one to understand this one. In saying that of course I will be reading part one next and I am dying to read number 3.
Fiona Pierce is the perfect daughter and friends. She will do anything for anyone and always with a smile on her face. She seems happy but is she really? Fiona has a secret that she is determined to keep to herself! Mark Beckett is a man whore one time only is his motto. When someone from his past comes back and threatens his family the one main person to help him is the tiny pocket rocket Fiona, he never expected this and he never expected for his feelings towards her to change. Can Mark protect his family and convince Fiona that they are meant to be together and will he even want to once he finds out her secret?
I cried and I was laughing out loud while reading this book and with comments like this you can understand why I was laughing so hard:-
“His eyes finally found me and Uterus spoke up. “Fallopian Tubes, Vagina and I have all voted and the results are in …… JUMP HIM!” Well crap I could usually reason with Fallopian Tubes and Uterus but Vagina? There was no swaying her….. Thank God Clit hadn’t weighed in or I’d already be across the room and climbing Mark like the human mountain he was. Everest be damned! It was Beckett I would conquer!”
I totally loved Fiona. I loved how fiery she was and dedicated to her parents and her friends and I absolutely loved how she went on her rants all the time!

The Spark (Carolina Connections Book 2)
By: Sylvie Stewart
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Spark (Carolina Connections Book 2) by Sylvie Stewart is a romantic comedy. This is an awesome second book to the Carolina Connections series. This is the love story of Fiona Pierce and Mark Beckett. Fiona is the friend that anyone would want. She picks you up when your down and makes your day better. She is loyal to her best friend and is there when her parents need her help. The only thing larger than her fashion sense is her humor and sarcasm. Her upbeat attitude is contagious. Things did not go well the first time that she met Mark Beckett. Her second meeting didn’t start out well, however, did turn out to be better than the first. The only other problem is that Fiona doesn’t do relationships. She is just fine having a friend with benefits. So she doesn’t understand the feelings that she is having each time she is around Mark. She should be ignoring him, however, can’t seem to keep away from him for long. Then when a dangerous situation arises for both Mark and his family, Fiona jumps into action. However, Fiona has a secret that she is keeping. Will Fiona open up to Mark and take a chance on love or will this secret doom any chance this couple has?

Mark Beckett is a man that has one night stands and that is it. He makes sure that the woman he is with knows this before they hook up. Then he meets Fiona Pierce and starts feeling emotions that he never has before. He has his rules and is breaking every one of them with Fiona. Then when a dangerous situation hits his family he finds Fiona giving them her complete support which only deepens his feelings for her. Now Mark finds himself asking Fiona out on dates and pursuing a relationship. The only problem is that Fiona seems to be pushing him away. Will Mark discover the reason why or will any chance of them falling in love fall apart?

This book and the first one can be read as a standalone. I however highly recommend that you read them in order. I found that knowing both stories and the characters that overlap in each makes reading them an amazing experience. This is the second book I have read by the author and I will keep reading her books. Her stories and characters come alive and I had a constant smile on my face the entire time I was reading them. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. This book also provides that warm feeling you get when reading of two people you know are right for each other find this out for themselves. This book does contain adult language and situations. It would be for those 18 years of age or older.
5.0 out of 5 stars Intelligent, fun, and sexy 5 March 2017

This had more character development than the first book "The Fix". It gave a chance for characters who where stereotypes in the first book: muscly-ego-maniac, ditsy-blond-best-friend to become complex human beings. And showed the history that brought them to use those personas to protect their hearts.
It was a fun to read two clever, sexy people who were good at teasing each other also be able to have good earnest moments.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great as a sequel or on its own! 2 December 2016

The Spark is a great sequel to The Fix but also completely enjoyable on its own. It is witty, steamy, and hilarious. The characters are well developed and fun to follow, and the book is fast paced and hard to put down. The writing is very good, and I loved the way the main characters took turns narrating the story. The Spark is a great addition to The Carolina Connection Series. I can't wait to read the next book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun read!! 11 January 2017

This book was so much fun to read. I love the author's witty writing style. It was a great follow up book to The Fix and while it is easily read as a stand alone book, it was also great to revisit the characters that were in the first book. I had a hard time putting the book down once I started reading it and definitely recommend it to others. I'm looking forward to book 3.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fiona is the best friend of Laney from the first book 'the spark' ... 6 February 2017
By Bookgyrl - Published on Amazon.com

Fiona is the best friend of Laney from the first book 'the spark' but the book is a good standalone. Fiona is a small, feisty woman who always seems to be warm and sunny but has a way with words if needed. Mark experiences this when he tries to flirt with her and gets blasted.
When they get involved after her help with some family issues Mark soon realizes he wants more than 'friends with benefits' but Fiona has her reasons for keeping it that way.

I really liked this story. Well written, not too complicated. A story with heart.
