Product description

Product Description

A brilliant, alpha architect. A smart, sultry apprentice. What could possibly go wrong?

This is the second book in The Walsh Series, though it reads as a stand-alone novel with characters from the first book making appearances.

Some lines are meant to be crossed.

That hair.

That fucking hair.

It was everywhere, always, and I wanted to tangle my fingers in those dark curls and pull.

And that would be fine if she wasn't my apprentice.

Andy Asani was nothing like I expected. She was exotic and scary-brilliant, and the slightest murmur from those lips sent hot, hungry lust swirling through my veins. Outside my siblings, she was the only person I could name who shared my obsession with preserving Boston's crumbling buildings.

My wants were few: good eats, tall boots, sweaty yoga, interesting work. One incredibly hot architect with the most expressive hazel eyes I ever encountered and entirely too much talent in and out of the bedroom wasn't part of the original plan. Apparently he was part of the package.

Wine was my rabbi and vodka was my therapist, and I needed plenty of both to survive my apprenticeship. Especially with Patrick Walsh leaving love notes in the form of bite marks all over my body.

*This is the second book in The Walshes Series, though it reads as a stand-alone novel.

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this book. I love the Walsh siblings!!! I love their banter with each other. I want to be part of their family. However I had to force myself to finish this book. I don't know why exactly. There was something off about Andy. She is self-centered but there's something else there. She seemed almost dead. I can't quite figure out why Patrick was so obsessed with her. Like I said she seemed lifeless. I found myself hurting for Patrick at times. The only time I didn't have to force myself to read was when things started going to s**t. I found that to be rather odd. But overall I'm glad I finished it. I will read the remaining books because I love the Walsh family. In the end the main thing that bothers me about this book is the quote from Harry Potter " if you have to ask you'll never know, if you know you need only to ask" is from the Deathly Hallows part 2 and there was no reference to that movie or book anywhere. I knew when I read it, ask my teenage daughter about it and looked it up just to make sure I was right. And it is definitely from Deathly Hallows Part 2. Not sure how that was overlooked. I'm hoping the next book is better but that's not saying this book was bad. It was just okay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great banter and chemistry 4 May 2016

The Space Between is the second book about the Boston Walsh family and their architecture firm. I enjoyed the big family dynamics and love the glimpses of each family member's life that runs through these books.
The story focuses on Patrick the "OptimusPrime" of the Walsh family. He has been unable to keep an assistant or apprentice without running them off. Things change with Andy's interview where she is ready for everything he throws at her.

"I couldn’t help it; lame responses kept spewing out while my brain fixated on that voice. If aged whiskey had a sound, it would be Andy’s voice, all heady and rich, with a slow burn as it went down."

With immediate chemistry, fun banter and texts Andy tries to resist a forbidden romance with her boss and all of the messy complications that can and will entail.
I can't wait to dive into the next story and reconnect with my new favorite Boston family.

5.0 out of 5 stars These architects keep getting sexier and sexier!!! 27 March 2016

5 Sexy Stars!!!

In Book Two of The Walsh Series, we get Patrick and Andy Asani a sharp as a tack architectural student that has her eye on working for Walsh Associates as their newest apprentice intern. Andy has done everything she can to make this happen for herself, but what she didn't count on was her reaction to Patrick Walsh upon meeting him....

"Everything about Patrick was assertive. Staring into his hazel eyes, I immediately knew it wasn't limited to architecture."

I absolutely LOVED Andy's confidence not only in herself as a woman, but in her ability as an architect. The strength of character that she exudes in the way she addresses life and what she wants out of it, is incredibly sexy and I think Patrick just didn't know what to make of it or her when they first meet. Personally I think he was so drawn to her that he just didn't know what to do with himself. Patrick has such an intensity to him which is so alpha in my mind and I immediately thought oh this is going to be good!!!

"His harnessed intensity brought the walls closer and thickened the air. His stare was cool and observant, and I experienced a profound sense he could slough away my layers with one glance.

Once Andy joins the firm and begins working with Patrick on a daily basis, their undeniable draw to each other was apparent to me, unfortunately, it wasn't quite as apparent to our H/h....or was it? What Patrick did know is that Andy's ability as an architect was amazing and he couldn't help but be impressed with her. Meanwhile, Andy is doing her best to stop having all sorts of dirty thoughts about Patrick, because, you know, he's her boss...

The fact that Andy is a strikingly gorgeous woman has not escaped Patrick's notice that's for sure. But what drove him crazy were some of her other characteristics....

"It wasn't enough that her primary mode of communication was eyebrow arching; she needed to add some riddles and obscure references too.

And let's not forget to mention Andy's fascination with wearing knee socks with some great patterns. I found the fact that Patrick was bound and determined to get her out of these socks so he could worship her entire body quite sexy. Adding in that they both like to "play" in the bedroom just makes the sex in this book that much dirtier and fun at the same time....

"As much as I hated to admit it, the facts weren't lying. Patrick gave me the best orgasm of my life. I'd be willing to argue it was the best orgasm known to womankind. If there was a contest for that sort of thing, I'd happily write up any entry."

As much as these two weren't looking for something permanent, they were so right for each other and as time moves in the book and they spend more and more time together, they had to admit what they both wanted and what that would mean for everyone involved; Andy's family was more dysfunctional than Patrick's but on different levels. As I watched their relationship grow, the way Ms. Canterbary wrote their story made me fall more and more in love with these two as a couple. They're bright and witty, incredibly sexy and most importantly the ying to the other's yang.

But can they both admit it to each other? Can Patrick's entire family be on board with Andy being part of their lives permanently both in and out of work? Can their different backgrounds prevent them from finding their HEA or will they be able to build what the perfect HEA looks like for them? Pick up book two in this series and you'll find out. As an added bonus you'll experience a great quirky sexy read too!
5.0 out of 5 stars Just as good as the first - and more growly, bitey men! 28 June 2017

The Space Between is the second book in Kate Canterbary's Walsh series. Patrick is a control-freak, alpha male who doesn't suffer fools gladly and is not thrilled with the idea of taking on an apprentice, no matter how talented (or attractive) she might be. Andy, in true Canterbary form, is a strong, capable woman – that's not to say she doesn't have her own set of issues, but she's no wallflower and more than holds her own against Patrick's grumpy, growly demeanor. The dynamic between the two is great – Patrick doesn't quite know what to make of Andy or his attraction to her and Andy deals with both physical and professional attraction to Patrick.

One of the best things about this series is the Walsh family interactions. Despite all of the family dysfunction, they are relatable and realistic. Oh, and the sexy times are HOT, as always!!
5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THE WALSH'S 20 April 2017

4.5 stars

Andy has wanted to work for the Walsh's family business for as long as she can remember and she has admired Patrick from afar. He was a bit prickly during the interview but little did she know it was because of what she did to him from the very beginning.

They both kept things professional but opened the door with a little flirty texting. Then things progressed. Patrick and Andy are perfect for each other. They are both masters of their trade, they love what they do and are invested in the firm. BUT something happens that can change it all.

Andy is hurt and with everything she's gone through who can blame her? He's miserable without her and is going to do everything to win her back.

Love the Walsh's!!
