I usually don’t write reviews on purchases but these True Wireless headphones blew me away for the price of AUD$42.99 so I thought Id share my experience.
I’ve been using my trusty Soundpeats Q30 Plus Bluetooth wired headphones for the past year and a half which are also amazing headphones as well and are still going strong, but I wanted to try a pair of truly wireless headphones while training.
Being an in ear earphone kind of guy I was looking at a number of in ear bluetooth wireless earphones, besides the Apple Earpods which I’m not a fan of.
After much researching I narrowed it down to two. A competitors in a similar price range, and the Soundpeats True Wireless.
The reviews I read about the competitors was they weren’t loud enough and didn’t push out enough bass, so I decided to go for these Soundpeats.
I was a little bit apprehensive if they’d compete with my Q30 Plus Bluetooth wired headphones or if they’d sound good, but geez these headphones proved me wrong.
These earphones are loud and sound terrific for the price they’re sold at.
Listening to something like the Red Hot Chili Peppers you get lots of bass, lots of mids and lots of highs. There’s also a lot going on in their music and these headphones can handle it all perfectly audio wise.
The main thing that I would like to point out is that you need to experiment with the silicone ear tips to get the right fit and right sounds. The small and medium were too small for my ears and the audio didn’t sound great but when I swapped over the large ear tips this is where the headphones formed a proper seal in my ear and delivered great sound.
Now that I spoken about the audio quality, the headphone build and design are also great.
From the attached pics the headphones come in a small charging case which the headphones snap back into with the help of magnetics. When they’re back in the case they turn off and start charging. Cool. The charging case also has four small white LED’s which tell you the remaining charge and charges via a micro usb cable.
In terms of wearing these headphones and comfort, this is also where they also excel.
I’ve been worried that they would feel uncomfortable and fall out but this has never happened.
With everyday wear they sit snugly in your ear and don’t move at all. They fit really well and you barely notice that they’re there. Even at the gym with them in running on the treadmill, using an elliptical and weights these earphones just stay in and pump out motivational tunes.
All in all these are awesome wireless bluetooth headphones for the price.
I definitely recommend for headphones for the features, audio quality, fit / comfort, and the price.
The only issues I’d say I have with these is they don’t have volume control on the earphones, but that’s not a big deal as I control the audio via my Apple Watch or my iPhone. But looking at all the other similar headphones they don’t have this function either.
Do yourself a favour and buy these headphones, you won’t regret it.
I've been looking to buy in ear Bluetooth earphones for some time. Previously I've used the following Bluetooth earphones/headphones
Sony MDR-AS700BT - Behind the neck headphones Plantronics Explorer 500 Mobile Bluetooth Headset (single ear)
I'm no audiophile. My needs were purely in ear earphones that are not expensive, uncomfortable, quality (build and audio), footprint and have good battery life.
Pricing is always an issue as you see some brands well over $200. I've always thought if they are worth it or not. That much for a product that can be easily lost, broken, eventually stop working due to battery life, etc, etc. On the other end of the scale, if you go cheap, you get what you pay for. There are so many cheap alternatives. I cam across SoundPeats on a bargain website where they were mentioned as great bang for buck. At just under $50 Australian, I decided to give this new model a try.
In terms of comfort, I can't really fault these. They sit in comfortably and hold well.
Buildquality is top notch, which I was not expecting. Both the earphones themselves and the charging capsule. Again, nothing to fault.
Audio quality wise, I used these on a Sony Xperia XZ2, Samsung Galaxy S10e, Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and a Sony PS Vita (First model). The quality of the audio overall is great. Good enough bass and treble across all devices. Volume is always an issue with phones. I notice the volume doesn't go as loud as it would on wired headsets. But this seems to be an issue with phones themselves. Using these on My Sony PS Vita, the volume on high was quite loud. I had to turn it down a notch. But even on the phones, it's enough for MP3's, YouTube and Netflix.
While I never bought these for calls, they work as you would expect with most bluetooth headsets. They do the job, but the quality is not as good as use the phone itself with no headset. This is the same case for the Plantronics headset I have.
I was surprised at the size of the charging case/dock. Easily fits in my pants pockets, even with my phone in the same pocket.
Battery life, my biggest gripe with non wired earphones/headphones. Always have to remember to charge and the worry that you run out of battery at an inconvenient time. I can't really give you a full assessment of the battery life, but what can I say, i'm surprised how well they hold. Seeing that the case is small and have no issues carrying it with me, I have no issue with battery life. With he case, I've gone 3 days with regular use and have not worried about battery life. Again, I don't really have a full assessment, but you won't always have to be worried about battery life with these.
At the price I paid for these, you literally cannot fault these. They would easily compare well against models that go for well over $200.
My biggest concern was that they would stay in my ears. I've had rubber tipped headphones in the past that wouldn't stay in my ears. After using them for about 2-3 hours of building shelves in my garage, they stayed in really well. They fit comfortably, the volume was very good, and they blocked out A LOT of sound. The other things I was impressed with were the touch controls, connection, and call quality. Whenever I use Bluetooth headphones my wife mentions the poor call quality but with these she said that the quality was good. After the first day of my first pair of true wireless headphones I'm very impressed. I can't say these are the best headphones of their type because I haven't tested them all, I can say that these are a great value for the money and if you are looking for a set that provides excellent call quality, a strong connection, and great (for the cost) sound. These would be recommended. Very happy with my purchase and considering getting another set for a friend.
Great case build and really high-quality product! Connection setting is really easy, and the touch function actually works very well! I never expect it will be so great on the music control and sound quality at this price, but the build of the earpieces are solid and definitely worth it! The sound bass is really good on this earbud!
- Sound, the bass is great, you can hear the crisp of detail; the noise isolation of the earbuds are also perfect! - Design, the matte finish is very nice and smooth. Light-weight and really comfortable; it also comes with 2 sets of silicon earpieces for your sizes preference. They are very low-profile. people barely notice when the bud is in the ear. -Connectivity, you have your Bluetooth 5.0, right? Then enjoy the great connectivity and all control features. Very easy to pair and just took me about 2 mins ish to finish all setup. Once you set it all up, next time just take them out of the box and touch the right earbud will reconnect in just a sec! -Function, touch function works exceptionally great! I really like it, control with the voice assistant and phone calls, music control, etc. -I use for sports activities never find drop/fall issues!
I was amazed because how good is it. the design and the buildquality is great for the money. I must say the best bluetooth 5.0 earbuds for the budget, the sounds quality will adapt good to all kind of music in everyday use. At first I don't like that it true wireless because I have bad experience in cheap true wireless earpieces before, due to sometimes they don't work together so I have to reconnect, but this earbuds is fix all that problem, will test this more, totally recommended at the moment
These true wireless earbuds come in an understated black color theme and overall design aesthetic, fitting snugly in your ear, without much protruding. An added bonus is the small form factor magnetic charging case, easily enough to slip into a pocket here and there. The charging case can recharge the earbuds about twice or thrice, which provides a welcome boost in power throughout the day when you're not listening, although alone they have an adequate 3 or 4-hour battery life.
Sound quality is definitely one of the best given the price that these earbuds ask for, comparable to the applauded MI Piston 3s. Sound was mostly smooth throughout the entire profile, with only slight distortion at the highs, although it was a bit too bass-heavy for my liking. However, songs still sounded excellent on these earbuds.
Comfort and user operability was the only weaker point of these otherwise flawless earbuds. Although comfort varies from person to person, the angle of these earbuds just didn't sit too well in my ear canals, no matter which tip was used. User controls were also somewhat confusing initially, especially when switching from Stereo to Mono and back. Another note to make would be that operation involves pressing a button on the earbuds, which push them further into your ear canal, which is a slight annoyance. Media control includes Play/Pause, Next, and Previous, but there is no volume adjustment, and each earbud is mapped to only either Next/Previous, which means that with one earbud in, you can't move back and forth between songs.
Connectivity with these earbuds was relatively painless, with Bluetooth 5.0 and connecting fast enough to my devices. However, as mentioned before, toggling between Mono and Stereo was a bit of a pain, and sometimes they suffer dropout, with the left earbud losing connection.
Buildquality is a bit plasticky and flimsy, but there is an ample amount of sweat-resistance, which is an advantage.
All in all, these earbuds were an excellent purchase, and is definitely the best in this price range, as well as maybe even higher. I use these as my go-to workout earbuds, due to its wireless connectivity (over my Bose Soundsport) as well as sometimes for my daily commute when I don't want to lug my headphones around. Would recommend.
The Good: -Epic sound for price -Great bluetooth -Great battery life -Portable charging case -Solid, sweat resistant build
The Bad: -Toggling between Mono and Stereo is too hard -Didn't fit too well -Full media controls require both earbuds, no volume adjustment
I don't consider myself an audiophile but I have owned more than a few earphones, headphones in my life. I've owned corded and wireless and they range anywhere from $10 to $400AUD.
These are my first wireless earbuds. I've been using them for just over 3 weeks now and I am impressed. These sound like they're worth $150-$200. I've tested some hip hop, r&b, pop, metal, broadway recordings, acoustic tracks, orchestral. Very good bass, not overpowering, also quite clean sounding for an in-ear design.
They sit very comfortably for me. I have small ear canals so using the smallest tip was fine.
As for the controls, I haven't played with the modes much. I tend to forget the gestures. Turning on and off is easy, bluetooth pairing is easy.
The only slight difficulty I have is opening the case. The case is flimsy, isn't pretty and the groove is not easy to find. When my fingers are dry they slip trying to open it so I have to dig my nail on the opening a little bit to lift the cover. They may sound premium but the buildquality is so so.
Highly recommend for people looking for cheap wireless earbuds. It's great value. I've listened to worse sound from $50 headphones.
I purchased these specifically for voice calls, especially Teleconferences from home. These were not purchased for music. For the money.... The buildquality ok and connects to my iphone each time. Voice quality really good ONLY if you use 1 of the earbuds at a time. When used together (and i own Airpods as well) it puts the voice into a weird stereo widening effect.
WHen listening with Airpods the voice is mono and clearly feels like its in the centre of your head with 2 buds in ear.
When listing with S2x oundpeats, the voice is in a simulated stereo, almost like 1 of the soundpeats is a fraction behind the other with the same audio playing. When listening with 1, voice quality is really good and clear.
I normally don't leave reviews, but I'm compelled to due to the sheer quality of these earbuds.
Pros: In-ear earbuds - I love in-ear earbuds, so this is a great plus. It blocks out nearly all background noise, so it's great on my daily commute on public transport.
EXTREMELY affordable - at only $40 aud (I got it for $32 on the prime day sale, which is even more insane) it poses a threat to other high-end earbuds
Bass - I love my hip-hop, and I can happily say that all the songs i've listened to so far have not had the bass distorted, which is great.
Comfortable - I was a bit cautious ordering these because they looked very bulky in the images provided and was concerned they would be uncomfortable, but I was worrying for nothing. They feel great, and I was able to listen for around 3hrs before experiencing a little bit of discomfort, but that's normal for me.
Bluetooth - These are my first pair of wireless earbuds, and I don't think I can go back after this. Not having a wire means I can leave my phone in my office or living room while doing errands or jobs so I don't get distracted while still being able to listen to music, and the range has proven very good so far. It also autoconnects to my Huawei P20 running EMUI 9.1, which is something that I was surprised with!
Battery - It says in the product details that it can run for around 4hrs, which is around what i've found. For wireless earbuds at this price, that's honestly fine and the compact charging case provides it with 24hrs of charge.
Touch controls - Don't get me wrong - when it works, it works great. But sadly for some reason mine sometimes just decides to pick and choose when it wants to accept input, which has caused some light frustration, ontop of looking a tad silly poking at something in my ear over and over... lol. Furthermore, there is a bit of a learning curve with the different commands, so I sometimes found myself confused as to what I was doing.
No volume controls - This is extremely nitpicky, but I felt compelled to include it here. It would've been a great addition.
Overall, you would be doing yourself a disservice NOT buying these. I've been using earbuds at this point for close to 10 years and I think I have finally found the 'white whale' I've been looking for. Affordable, great buildquality, wireless, excellent sound quality, and comfortable over long uses.
I received these wireless earphones a few days ago and have been extremely impressed with the sound and buildquality. They also look really good to wear as opposed to some wireless earphones which look bulky and silly. The pairing and connection is extremely quick and I am still yet to have them disconnect because of distance or anything. Surprisingly, they are also pretty good at blocking out noise. I used them at the library yesterday and was impressed with how well they blocked out pretty much all noise. All in all I am extremely impressed and would recommend these earphones to anyone looking for a quality pair or earphones at an extremely low price.
