Book 2 focuses on Henry, (jaz's brother from book one). He has to come to terms with his new supernatural status, as well as navigate the tricky grounds of having a mate and soul connection, all while protecting his family from the danger that seems to follow them.
It was a fun book, that kept me turning the page. If it were a movie, id be screaming at the screen. JUST DO IT! Talk to him! Ugh! And, omg that just happened! ABOUT TIME!
Watching the growth of the characters has been as good as the main story points. Definitely a book that deserves to be read...and more than once.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet romance within good plot 10 October 2014

Henry's a good guy going through a lot. He deserves some happiness after what is going on with his family. This part of the series is full of romance, family secrets, action. The universe is well laid out, the characters well developed and there is a lot of humor in the writing. This is a YA series that is very well done. It doesn't insult young readers intelligence and is well written for an older audience.

a good story, believable l e characters whose personalities rem a in consistent, and yet slightly unpredictable...refreshingly so...enough whimsy to keep the drama aspects from being burdensome...enough romance for an "awww" factor but not cloying or trite....a good 're as d!

Great book - there were definite times when I wanted to strangle a person or two for being slow on the uptake, but I still enjoyed the book. I'm looking forward to the next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great second book :) 6 August 2014

Soul Promise is book 2 in Rachel Walter’s soul mate series. If you haven’t read True Connection yet, start there. I was excited to see Henry get his story and he does in this book, and much more. Henry is trying to figure out himself and his wolf and what he is to others. All this and fighting the pull he has for Skeeter. Now, I want to slap them BOTH in this book. It was like QUIT FIGHTING IT. But they are also fighting against a force that wants to tear their group apart. Jazzy, Seth, and Barry are all there to help Henry through his tough time, even when he pushes them away. There are so many characters in this book, but I am weird I like my core group and what they are into. Henry had so much going against him, even himself. But he figured out that he should count on his friends to be there to help him through anything. There is a battle, I wont tell you about it but……. friends are lost. I cried. Get your tissues ready. I will say this is a VERY heavy book. Not just in size, but in emotion. Rachel does leave it open for all the characters to get something in the next book. Me? I want a Barry book. Then I will be thrilled. HAHAHA. Go Fall in love with all these friends. You feel like part of their lives by the time you are through.
