Fantastic product with incredible sound quality. Best I’ve heard in a wireless headphone. Seriously, read the reviews on audio and tech websites. In particular, check out the Wirecutter review and wireless headphone comparisons. All reviews are glowing: better audio than more expensive models like 1000XM3, and Bose QC-35 and Bose 700. However, the ANC is fairly weak compared to those 3 products. I knew this going into the purchase, and actually prefer this for my uses.
My old Audio-Technica (wired) noise-cancelling headphones had excellent noise-cancelling (2nd or 3rd best ANC when I bought them (Bose QC-25 were the best)), but the sucking pressure it puts on my eardrum makes it uncomfortable to use over prolonged periods. The H900N doesn’t do this, and allows me to walk around safely in public, while crossing the road, etc. It does actively block noise, but it’s not too effective, which is good for work environments where you may be interrupted by a work colleague.
Battery life is fantastic, rated at roughly 28 hours with ANC turned ON. Incredible. I can’t really say if this is true, but that’s because I rarely charge them.
These are perfect for me, but if you’re looking for the most effective ANC on the planet, go for the Sony 1000XM3, Bose 700, or QC35. Also consider the Jabra 85H.
Compared with the next model up (just an additional $50 - $80), the quality is different.
The noise cancelling hardly works. I can hear light conversations and all outside noise. The sound quality is also extremely poor. You are far better spending the additional money and getting a better quality set of headphones.
