Song Bear: A Shifters in Love Fun & Flirty Romance (Silverbacks and Second Chances Book 4) Kindle Edition
Elise has known loss. Now she’s ready to find love.
Moving to Bear Creek was a big decision for bear shifter, Elise. She left behind a life, a career, and a mountain of memories. However, the thought of watching Frankie’s children grow up, and the chance to open a new organ transplant coordination department at the hospital in Bear Bluff, persuaded Elise it was the right decision.
Then, on a morning run in the mountains, she hears a song. Not just any song. And not just any singer.
Elise lost her heart to Hank Rivera when she was fourteen. She used to lie on her bed, listening to his heartbreakingly deep voice soar with emotion. He was hers. And she was his. It didn’t matter that every other girl on the planet thought the exact same thing.
Then he disappeared. Until now.
Could it be that the Hank Rivera truly is hers?
Hank left behind a career he loved. Instead, he traveled the world, he built schools, helped those in need, and generally forgot about the world of music. Until he arrived in Bear Creek.
One morning, he picked up his guitar and strummed the notes of an old song.
His mate heard it like a siren’s call. Now she’s here, in his cabin, and his whole life is about to change.
But can this song bear make a comeback and help Elise raise much-needed funds for the transplant department? Or will he live in obscurity, overshadowed by the events of the past?

Even though Ms Raines is great at getting emotions and feelings across I found this not as good as the previous books in this series.
As much as I loved everything that was going on in this story, which was a lot, I just didn’t feel any connection to Elise or Hank. For some reason they just seemed to be, okay, were fated mates, lets get on with it. Not enough time with them I think due to everything else going on.
Though very clever of the author, I also was a bit, what the heck, with all the song lines.
I found the situation with his father (and Pamela) was dealt with too quickly, with not enough depth. 30 years estranged due to someone’s jealous lies and all is forgiven in a short time period.
I was kindly given a copy by the author but read it though KU. This is my honest review of this book.
Hank Rivera was once a famous Country cross over singer. He had a disagreement with his father/manager and gave up his career overnight.
Elise had been one of his biggest fans and sure she was in love with him.
It's now thirty years on and they meet by accident. Being shifters, they immediately know that they are mates.
There is a lot of reminiscing and a small emergency but really not much going on at all.
A time waster really.

I thought this was a good book. I liked the connection between Elise and Hank. Hank used to be a famous country music star but approximately 30 years ago when he found out that his manager and father had been using his underage fans so he decided to walk away as he felt guilty about what his father had done since they were his fans. Elise lost her twin sister Delia and had been working as part of a Shifter Organ Donor Programme since Delia’s heart was transplanted into Frankie so after meeting Frankie and Adam she decides to move to Bear Creek and to make the move even sweeter, she’s been asked to set up a Shifter Organ Donor Programme at the Bear Bluff Hospital. She’s going for a run on the lower slopes of the Mountain when she hears a song and voice that she hasn’t heard in 30 years which seems to magically pull her towards. Elise has no idea that she’s not only going to meet Hank Rivera in the flesh since she’s been his fan for years and even remembers that when her and Delia used to hear his songs on the Radio she told Delia that she’s in love with him and they’re going to get married as they’re mates, as she even felt a connection to him back them. She was completely right when she used to dream about marrying him as they end up being mates. It’s really bitter sweet for her as she’s really happy that they’ve met each other but she’s also sad as Hank and Delia are never going to meet each other. I would’ve liked seeing more of the relationship between Hank and Elise as there was so much going on in the background for them to really form a connection like the organisation of the Bear Creek Music Festival to raise funds for the Bear Bluff Hospital, Elise’s new job at setting up the Shifter Organ Donor Programme and both of them trying to workout what’s bothering Thor and Lauren. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
The secondary story features a young couple, and the theme is open communication and honesty. A nice story, it took me about two-three hours to read. (With breaks).
This has a slightly slower pace, a thoughtful tone, vivid characters, steamy scenes and some laughs and was thoroughly enjoyable. Try it and see. Read all the others in this as before this one to get the most from the story! Enjoy!
