I often listen to books (with my phone reading) and found I had to focus more than usual as there were many characters each with their own issues to follow. The main characters were likeable and I willed them to achieve their happy ever after or, at least, happy for now, moment. The resolutions found by each character felt easily won but that suited the read I needed at the time.
I do love Lucy Diamond’s style but I’m giving four stars as I would say her earlier books are more absorbing reads than this one.
I felt the last few chapters brought the story to a rather abrupt end albeit a generally feel good one.
I wouldn’t recommend the book to any of my friends due to the rather random and unnecessary swearing in it which in my opinion adds nothing positive to the story, the writing or the characters. It simply jars as the story gets underway.
