4.0 out of 5 starsCharacter descriptions are worth zilch

The character descriptions are so weak I have to make up my own characters based on generic dialogue and actions. It’s infuriating because it’s a problem throughout the whole series. This one was no exception. However I enjoyed this book more than the other ones in the series. The characters struggles and hard times were more strongly felt. I just wish the background of characters and their physical/personality descriptions were at the minimum satisfactory. The ending was forced, and I get it. Each book is about someone’s wedding. But this one didn’t seem natural or realistic. I had two other problems with the story. One, who “borrows” a wedding dress from a store? And for free? A wedding dress is to be used just one day so that doesn’t seem plausible to happen. Second, why did Danny marry Truth? There’s some element of mystery set up around it in the beginning, but we never find out why his marriage to Truth was ‘sort of’ like a green card marriage. We are never told how they fell in love or why Truth forgot her love for Danny so easily with the kiss of a stranger. I seem to have read this far in series because the author has strong beginnings with plot points I hope will be further explained. But they always nose dive into weak endings that leave me frustratingly unsatisfied with how the story went.
I enjoyed this addition to the Cedar Bend Brides. At times, I didn't think that this couple would make it. Truth had a lot of love and heart to put up with Jackson. I know if it was me, I would have left and probably never turned back. But, love have a way of making you do the unthinkable. I hope that in future novels of the Cedar Bend Brides, we get to see how much Jackson and Truth have evolved. Great addition Ms. Hart. I can hardly wait for the next installment.

4 stars I purchased Brides of Cedar Bend book 3 Something Borrowed by Lena Hart and this review was given freely. Jackson and his sister in law Truth heal after the death of Jackson's brother. Humor, loving friends, recovering from addiction, jealousy, a steamy scenes, and a spur of the moment wedding are just a few of the things that make this an emotional and heartwarming romance. Contains raw emotions and some violence.

This was a good quick read, Truth is a great character that just wants to help her brother in law out. Jackson is trying to stay away from Truth because he wants to honor his brother. I loved this story because you can’t but root for these two and of course little monster or daisy. To see Truth stand up for Jackson when he is hurt, when others laugh at him or when he is in trouble and daisy is taken away is amazing. This was a great story and Lena hart did a great job on this story and this series is great.
