Product Description

One mouthwatering temptation...

All Daisy Goldsmith wants is to get out of her small town, leaving behind the bullies who've taunted her. Attending culinary school in New York has always been her biggest dream---a dream she's not confident enough to pursue. After all, she's nothing but a "fat cow." But when her brother's best friend, the man who's always secretly held her heart, moves back to town after college, everything changes for Daisy.

One scrumptious nibble...

The Goldsmith house has always been Jon Roberts' sanctuary from the crazy of his life. With a broken and dysfunctional family, Jon embraces the Goldsmiths like his own. After getting a real glimpse of the woman Daisy's becoming, Jon is torn between his loyalty to the family and his desire for his best friend's little sister.

One delectable bite...

As Daisy and Jon spend more time together, they can't resist the attraction between them. Once they've had a taste, nothing can keep them apart--not their dreams, their families, or the difference in their age. Can someday turn into forever or will they bite off more than they can handle?

While this can be read as a standalone some readers might wish to read the previous stories for more backstory. However for me it wasn't an issue.

This is about Daisy one of the Prescott clan daughters. (all siblings have 'D' names). Jon is a friend of her brothers & he frequents their home from time to time due to his family issues. Daisy has a major crush & Jon is several yrs older than her 17. This is about their journey, dreams & their forbidden love. A nice good to escape into.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well-deserved happily-ever-after 4 April 2017

Disclaimer: ARC received in exchange for an honest review

Someday Soon by Laura Ward is another fantastic installment in her Not Yet series of connected standalones. In Someday Soon, Ward tackles the "guy in love with his best friend's little sister" trope, but of course she does it with her trademark injection of heart and humanity.

Someday Soon finds Jon battling his growing feelings for his friend Dean's slightly underaged sister, Daisy. Because of age and circumstance, the romantic dynamic between Jon and Daisy often tends to be complicated. Both characters are at similar crossroads in their lives, in transition, unsure of what the future holds, and somewhat meandering in their shared present. Jon and Daisy's relationship, in any stage, is mutually beneficial. As their friendship expands, so does the sexual tension between them. Their friendship provides encouragement and breeds confidence, while fostering a safe space for their love to blossom.

Of course, Jon's and Daisy's romance isn't without turmoil, as they both struggle with personal demons as well as her family's initial disapproval. But, the love shared bolsters both of them to be able to pursue that which they desire most. It's a true, contemporary coming-of-age tale.

Although this book reads slightly more juvenile than the previous two -- it's more YA than NA/contemporary romance -- it nonetheless is another excellent piece of fiction from Ward and is certainly in line with her brand. She puts her soul, her essence, her passion into every story she tells, which is why her books are so successful and accessible, and her characters come alive, leaping off the pages straight into her readers' hearts. Essentially, Ward crafts feel-good stories where good triumphs over evil and everyone gets their well-deserved happily-ever-afters. She writes her vision of the world, and it's most certainly one that you want to live in, crawl inside of, and never leave.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Total Hit! 25 April 2017

This was a spectacular sequel. I have loved each of the books in this series and this one did not let me down. I loved that we had a fresh story and characters who were introduced are taking time in the sun. We still have those waiting but I was very curious about this young man as he had a very interesting back story. I loved out gal and I especially loved that this was such a fresh and lovely human story. The writing was solid and the story just flowed like butter. I also loved that we have a little bit of mystery with each of the books by Ms. Ward. I can't wait for the next one in this wonderful series. I also love that we are still getting glimpses into the world of those who came before. This was a total hit for me. I also want to thank Ms. Ward for publishing this book as a paperback. A very special touch for me! Great job! denise bailey

Laura Ward is one of those authors who could tell me she was publishing her grocery list, and I’d jump at the chance to buy it. Time and time again, she has created captivating characters in a storyline that I cannot get enough of. Someday Soon took a spin on the brother’s best friend trope and I loved every single delicious second of it. The relationship between Daisy and Jon blossomed so effortlessly that it gave me all sorts of feels and now I just want a whole lot more.

“You are lightness and warmth. You give and take care of others. You’re my Sunshine.”

When we first met Daisy, she was forbidden to Jon in so many different ways that I didn’t know how they would make it work. Yet, the transformation she made from the beginning to the end of the novel was one of the most beautiful, touching ones that I’ve come across. In no way did she end up changing for Jon, but he helped her to see herself through his eyes. She grew stronger and learned to believe in herself, but the natural progression of how it happened touched my heart. Jon was one of those heroes that I took an instant liking to. I didn’t care how much of a bad boy player he was described as; there was a fierce protectiveness that oozed from his personality and that trait is such a huge weakness for me. The way that he fought between what he felt was right and his developing feelings for Daisy was frustrating at times, yet so perfect at the same time. It spoke to who he wanted to be as a man, making it pretty difficult to resist his charm. There was something special about these two that had me rooting for them to be together from the very beginning. They were able to lean on each other which led to a beautiful friendship and an unwavering support system. They complemented each other and brought out something in the other that not only made them better together, but better individuals, too.

“A warm heart, hot summer, and even hotter man…Jon was right. The temptation was right in front of me. How could I resist?”

Not only does Laura Ward weave a magical romance between these two characters in a fun, down to earth storyline, but her writing is just superb. As someone who has been around from her debut, it’s fascinating to see how she has honed her craft. The stories she writes continue to show growth in her writing while also maintaining the voice that makes them uniquely hers. I went into Someday Soon with no expectations, just the desire to read it based on who wrote it. I can say with utmost certainty that Someday Soon was everything I could want in a novel. It was filled with sweet romance, a heartwarming journey, and characters who will make you laugh and giggle. There aren’t enough positive things I can say about this one, so if you’re looking for a read to knock it out of the park, I’d definitely suggest checking this one out!

Daisy is very passionate about food and cooking. She wants to go a culinary school, but her parents don’t want her to go because they think she’s too young. Daisy will stay home for one year and prove to her parents that she’s mature enough to move away. She works hard and still continues to cook. In her free time, she grows closer to Jon. Jon is her big brother’s best friend and he’s off-limits. Daisy has a crush on Jon for several years and Jon feels the same way, and they become friends with benefits. They love to be together and their feelings only become stronger.

Someday Soon is the third book in the Not Yet series, but it was my first read by Laura Ward. It can be read as a standalone. I like to read a series in order, but I’ve dying to read this book since its release. I love curvy women who grow to love their body and become stronger. Daisy is that kind of woman. She isn’t happy with her body and she’s very shy. She becomes stronger during the book and she feels pretty, mostly because of Jon. Jon loves the way Daisy looks and her cooking. Jon doesn’t have the easiest home situation, but he has always found a home with his friends. He’s always welcome there. Jon is a sweetheart and a gentleman. He’s smart and wants to go to law school. He studies hard for it. I loved Jon and Daisy. They belong together.

I adored the secondary characters. Jon and Daisy have amazing friends and family. I loved the bond between them all. I also loved the bond between the Goldsmith family members. After meeting the characters of the previous books, I can’t wait to read them. I hope that this book won’t be the last book of this series.
5.0 out of 5 stars Another incredible book from Ward & a new favorite in the Not Yet series 4 April 2017

Another incredible book from Ward & a new favorite in the Not Yet series! I read the book almost from beginning to end because I couldn't wait to find out what would happen between Daisy & Jon.

I fell in love with Daisy from the beginning & loved how Ward was able to show both her vulnerable & strong sides. The metamorphosis of her character throughout the story always had me rooting for her and feeling her emotions as she did.

Thank you for adding Jon to the list of my book, sweet & smart, too! Loved reading things from his perspective & feeling how deeply conflicted he was over loyalty to his best friend & growing feelings for that friend's little impossible situation. Nice (& sexy) guys don't always have to finish last!!

The chemistry between the two was hot & the feelings real & as always, Ward delivers a story with "all the feels." Coming from a large family myself, I loved the supporting cast of the Goldsmiths and their antics & quirks; much like any big family would have.

I was thrilled to see the introduction of Izzy, a character with disabilities & the return of Amy, a beloved character from Ward's previous books. Giving a voice to these amazing individuals & shedding light on the capabilities & qualities of those with disabilities is to be admired & respected.

I can't wait to see what is next from Ward!
