No hole for locking extension is not good, especially for a blind reach item such as this. The tension holding spark plug is very light. How durable will the fingers be long term? I have this type plug socket in other sizes from other vendors that are 3-4x the price and had they been available in this odd size, I would have purchased from them. This is a very budget tool suitable for light duty use. It is not a professional quality tool but it’s priced accordingly.
Updated: We’ve now used this item on about 2 dozen times. A Range Rover 5.0 and F150, the balance on Ducati race bikes. The RR and Ducati’s all use NGK plugs, the Ford is Motorcraft. This socket no longer securely holds the NGK plugs, especially the Ducati plugs. I did try the old Motorcraft plugs I had not discarded and the slightly different ceramic insulator design does feel much more securely retained than either NGK but it is much looser than when this tool was new. The leaf spring retainers all appear to be in tact. Besides the serious flaw of no through hole to fit locking extension, the plug retaining mechanism is too light duty. If you need a 14mm spark plug socket as 1-time only, this item seems to fit the bill. Any more than that, save your pennies, you will certainly be disappointed by this tool. A $45 sparkplug dropped out & broke...that loss combined with the cost of this would have bought the Snap-On alternative. Expensive lesson learned
