I have to two young boys who have recently started playing instruments. One the violin and the other the guitar. I picked up this book because the title grab my attention when I saw it as a “recommended read” in amazon. Since I am not a musician myself I was hoping I could gain some incite into the industry.
My favorite quote from the books was "Having a career as a musician is work. Learning to play an instrument is work. There is very little true success in this world without massive amounts of work, regardless of how the media presents it. If it was easy, everyone would be a superstar musician.”
I thought it may be difficult to follow the two different authors, but Rory and Christopher were able to do it in a way that felt like I had two advisors instead of just one.
Although this book may be a little above my boys comprehension right now, it does give me some incite into how I can help support them and guide them with better practice techniques.
