Product Description

DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?

Snowbound is book 1 of 4 in the Drake and Ashley Series.

New college graduate Ashley Spencer has big plans. Now that she has her degree, she's ready to conquer the world, but while driving to a new city she gets caught in a blizzard. Not used to that kind of weather, and on an unfamiliar road, she slides off into a snowbank and gets stuck. Lucky for her, Colton Drake comes along and rescues her. The only trouble is, he's used to getting what he wants, and what he wants is Ashley, but she's not so sure she wants him.

Stuck in his cabin until the blizzard ends, will they drive each other crazy--or will their forced confinement drive them into each other's arms?

Noelle Stevens is a pen name used by author Christine Kersey. Where Christine's books are sweet romance and rated as PG, this story would be rated as PG-13, although any intimacy takes place behind closed doors.

3.0 out of 5 stars I just couldn't relate to the main character being treated the way she was. 24 February 2016

Even though this was free, I had a hard time enjoying this book. I just could not get past the main character sleeping with a stranger several times all the while knowing he is in a relationship with someone else. He really uses her and she seems okay with that!

4.0 out of 5 stars good first book 11 July 2016

Snowbound is a cute novel by Noelle Stevens and Christine Kersey. It is book one in their Ashley and Drake series. It is an easy read and although somewhat predictable, it is different enough to keep you reading. One is never sure what you think will happen will indeed happen.
Ashley is new to snow. She is on her way to a new job and a new town when she finds herself in a blizzard. She puts her car in a ditch in the middle of nowhere. She knows she can’t stay in the car without heat and with no provisions, so starts out walking back towards the last town she went through. She hopes to find a house for help along the way. She had hoped a new job and a new place would help her get over her boyfriend and their breakup. However, she didn’t plan on walking in a blizzard with little hope as a way to do that.
Drake is on his way to his cabin for the weekend. He knew he should have watched the weather better; but his cabin was well stocked and once he got there, he would be fine. Getting there was no problem with is car and with his knowledge of the area. However, he wasn’t planning on nearly running over a woman who is walking down the road in the blizzard.
Neither has an alternative than going to his cabin to sit out the storm. Ashley is concerned since she doesn’t know this man; but she has no choice. Drake isn’t keen on having his peace and quiet disrupted but he can’t leave her out here and it is too dangerous to take her into town. So they are stuck together in an isolated cabin in a blizzard with no phones.

I am glad Christine chose to write this book with a different name attached to it. It's definitely different than her other books, but I still enjoyed it. I did struggle a bit with the personality of one of the main characters, Drake, and how he acted and treated Ashley, but I think a good part of my struggle related to my own personal experiences. It in no way had to do with Christine's writing - she continues to be a wonderful and talented author! I suggest giving this book a try if you like Christine's work, and make sure to continue on in the series! The characters grow and progress as the series goes on so even the struggles I had at the beginning of the series started to improve. I think that's what I like about this particular series - if some of the things the characters do in the beginning bother you you can rest assured that the characters grow and change. I think a lot of people could relate in that sometimes we act immature in our decisions in relationships - but with time we can be a little wiser! This book is definitely worth giving a chance!

Even though I usually dislike stories that leave you hanging, I am very glad that I read this one. Very well written, with characters that you want to get to know better, and leaves you eagerly waiting to read the next book. Noelle Stevens/Christine Kersey, is a new author to me, but I'm betting that we will end up being very good friends, as I'm already anticipating the next book of hers for me to read. You will be glad that you took the time to read this book.

I liked the story, but I didn't like the way Drake kept treating Ashley. He kept saying it wasn't serious with his girlfriend but wouldn't tell the girlfriend about Ashley
