Lowell's writing style is wonderful. He draws you in with smooth, flowing phrases, authentic characters and the right amount of adventure that practically forces you to keep reading. This is an excellent story - just as all others I have read of Lowell's. The lines between legit and not are thoroughly blurred throughout this book. Highly recommended reading. Science Fiction in the everyday spacer life full of surprises and capacity building.

Nathan Lowell creates real characters in believable scenarios.
The only disappointment in each of his stories is that they end.

Great story with realistic characters. Creates interest from the opening pages that continues through the entire series. A real 'page turner'

A short fun read - I like the Ishmael Wong story line best but look forward to reading more in this series.

Great story about two young graduates who think they have been set up by authorities and need to go escape into unpatrolled space.

A good story from the Lowell Universe. Pretty sure this is going to cross over into Pip and Ishmael pretty soon. Otherwise it seems to be a good base for a new set of tales.

A welcome addition to Solar Clipper series
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2017Verified Purchase
I honestly cannot say why I enjoy reading Natan Lowell's Solar Clipper books. The writing is simple, the plots run quite slowly and there is sometimes excruciating recounting of trivia. But I really like them! There is a sense of subdued fun throughout the series, and Milk Run has a very familiar feel that fans will recognise. A recent graduate from the merchant fleet academy is wrongly accused of a crime. She goes on the run outside of civilised regions of the galaxy to Toehold Space where she joins a smuggling crew.

Different to the Ish series but it starts to join up later in the series. This is a good story looking at their world from a different perspective.

Addictive!

At first I was nervous about deviating from the Ish and Ish and Pip sagas. But these smugglers takes are just as addictive. I love the two female protagonists. Just as well written and addictive.

Excellent book

As the author says, no lost prince, no old ship alone unexpectedly against the alien invasion just a story about fine people set against a future. Where things work or if they don't s9omeone has skipped on maintenance
