Before you read "Smoke and the Flame", make sure you've read "Redemption Weather" to understand Poppy's point of view. Christine Michelle's third installment of the Cedar Falls chapter of Aces High MC is from Smoke's perspective. It's definitely not a retelling of Poppy's entire story because you're getting tidbits of information that Poppy wouldn't have known because she's not an actual member of Aces High MC and plus, we're introduced to other members of Cedar Falls plus a glimpse into the Tallahassee chapter.
Confession: I love Christine Michelle's style of writing especially when it comes to Motorcycle Clubs. As the blurb above discusses, Smoke is a brother of Aces High plus a firefighter. He falls for Poppy almost instantly and this book tells from his perspective some of the issues that we didn't get to see through Poppy's eyes in her book. Plus, we get more background information on his ex-Julie. Yes, Poppy and Walker's events are touched upon in this book; but doesn't take up all that much time. What is fantastic is reading where Poppy and Smoke end up through their journeys through tragedy, vengeance, heartbreak, healing, and renewal of sorts. Their epilogue is epic!

*It is highly suggested that you read Redemption Weather (Aces High MC - Cedar Falls Book 1) FIRST!
Biker.
Firefighter.
Brother.
I was all those things.
Never did I expect to add old man, husband, or father to the mix. Not this soon.
From the moment I saw her, I knew things would be different. I knew she’d change everything. Now, we just have to weather the storms she brought with her. Rains are supposed to put out the flame, but this time, I’m going to burn hot enough for the both of us.
This isn’t a retelling of our story. This is me, explaining how she burned so brightly I became the ash at her feet before rising in her arms a new man.
A better man.
A Biker, firefighter, brother, uncle, father, and hers forever.
