Assez étonnantReviewed in France on 13 January 2020
Premier livre de Emilie Schepp que je lis. Le personnage principal est étonnant et original. L’intrigue quant à elle est prenante, la narration ménage bien le suspense. La chute est cependant plutôt prévisible.
Best to read the preceding novels.Reviewed in Japan on 18 May 2020
Great fun read, better if you already know the characters' background. Enjoyable, but like so many thriller/mystery authors recently, there seems to a fascination with going on and on, then wrapping everything up neatly in the final handful of paragraphs. Fun, but tougher editor wouldn't hurt. I liked it, and the two preceding ones.
Great read, suspenseful.Reviewed in the United States on 11 November 2019
This is an enjoyable book to read and left me guessing. I only have one issue (why it didn't get 5 stars): there is a part where we get glimpses into one of the characters old diaries. The character at time diary is written is very young but the writing is more eloquent than even the narrative of the book, and no character talks like how the diaries are written. It doesn't make sense the emotion and age of this child to write so eloquently (like wouldn't have the vocab or grasp on grammar and sentence structure). Other than that, great book.
great readReviewed in the United States on 25 November 2018
I finished this book in two days - 8 hours. This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and I already have the third one lined up. No spoilers, but definitely worth reading. Smartly written, intense drama and terror.
