Product Description

Touring as an opening act for a huge rock band and landing a record contract means you’ve hit the big time, right?

Sadly, neither of those things gave Rusty Crawford, lead guitarist of the band Black Addiction, worldwide fame and fortune. Which was a shame because he had the lifestyle down to a fine art—without the clichéd stint in rehab.

Even being back in the Bronx, paying his dues didn’t rattle the charismatic axe man, ladies loved him and men wanted to be him. Fate would just have to catch up. Seemed like fate had more than just a platinum album planned for his future.

Alison Williams had the perfect life. Or at least she did until her world came crashing down around her, in the most epic way.

With her future no longer a certainty she finds herself out of her comfort zone and into unchartered territory—a place where Rusty Crawford likes to spend most of his time.

Will the charming and ridiculously hot rock god help her find her feet, or send her further down the rabbit hole?

One thing was for sure; both of them were in for the ride of their lives.

Like a lot of other people I was a huge fan of T Gephart's books on Powerstation and was very sad when that series ended...... what a lovely surprise when this series was announced and we Black Addiction...... its no secret that ROCKSTARS are amongst my favourite books...... in this book we follow the story of Rusty Crawford who is the lead guitarist of Black Addiction.... We meet Alison Williams, she's spent her entire life trying to be not like her mother, who was a groupie and doesn't know who Alison's father is... Alison's life to turns to disaster when he's dumbed by her "secret" boyfriend who also happens to be her boss and looses her job all in one go....... Rusty and Alison meet each other and they are inseparable.... Rusty treats Alison different to all other women he's ever met... he doesn't sleep with her right away..... when Alison looses everything he invites her to move in with him...... sparks fly between these two...... This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more about Black Addiction in the future....

I have to confess that I got hooked up to T Gephart's books only recently after meeting her few times at signings. But once I started reading, I simply got addicted and for the last couple of months, I've read everything she ever published. So, of course, once I found out she is going to write a new series about Black Addiction, I was simply ecstatic. And I can honestly say that this was an amazing read. It was a little bit more light-hearted than her other books but the characters still have their heartaches and problems. The only thing missing is the suspense which she has in most of her books. That doesn't mean that the book is lacking though. On the contrary. It was actually quite cool to read a simple love story with quite a few notes of humor and with incredible romantic leads.

Rusty and Alison are quite interesting characters and they meet like two normal people in a bar. Things don't exactly click from the first meeting but with time passing their chemistry just grows more explosive. And I loved the scene with their second official meeting :) It reminded me of that really cool scene from Crazy Stupid Love with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. You probably know which one I am talking about, but just so there are no misunderstandings. It's the one where Emma enters the bar, walks to Ryan and pretty much gives him the hottest kiss ever. And the whole evening after that (with the photoshop line and all that). So yes, few scenes in the book actually remind me quite a lot of the movie. But I still loved because even though it sounds familiar, it is still different.

So be prepared. Rusty is one hot dude and he can melt your panties with a single look.

What happens when fate intervenes in the lives of two complete strangers who think that they are living the dream? You get a sweet, funny and unpredictable story like Alison and Rusty’s. Slide is Book #1 in T. Gephart’s newest series Black Addiction and the very first book I have read of hers, and it has left me wondering why I have not read anything of hers sooner.

Alison Williams’s childhood was not perfect; in fact her driving force growing up was to create a successful, stable life for herself that was nothing like the one she had been raised in. As far as she was concerned she had succeeded, and with upcoming career advancement and exciting developments in her personal life, she thought she had her future all mapped out. That is until the proverbial rug is ripped out from underneath her and she finds herself landing hard on her arse with no idea what to do next.

Which brings me to Rusty Crawford, lead guitarist for Black Addiction and every woman’s wet dream. Where do I even begin! Yes he is a rock star and as such has always enjoyed the constant stream of ladies that are more than happy to offer up the chance to spend the night with him. But he isn’t your typical cocky, rock star player. Sweet, caring and funny, he is a genuine good guy, he loves his life and loves his band like they are family and has no plans on changing a damn thing. He is living the dream.

Until fate steps in and he crosses paths with the slightly neurotic, tightly wound and down on her luck Alison at a bar one night. Despite being so very different, and Alison’s life being so chaotic, opposed to the stress-free bliss of one-night stands he is so used to, he finds himself wanting to help her.

It was a sad day when the Power Station series ended, but now we have the spin-off Black Addiction series - woo hoo!!

If you have read the Power Station series, you will have briefly met Black Addiction, with their singer's connection to Power Station.

Now we get to learn about the rest of Black Addiction.

Rusty Crawford, lead guitarist for Black Addiction, seemingly has the world at his feet Sexy, career staring to skyrocket, women on tap (hey, it's a rockstar book, groupies are a given, right) - what more could a guy want.

"A smile that could impregnate a thousand virgins lit up his face"

Alison Williams - the world is her oyster - until it all comes crashing down spectacularly. I mean CRASH! BOOM! BANG! G0ne in 60 seconds!

But when their worlds collide - again - fireworks baby!

I adored Rusty and Alison - so different, but so perfect for each other.

Alison gets terrible cases of verbal diarrhoea (I guess that would be the way to describe it?), and the things that go through her mind had me in stitches at times. Absolutely no filter there. But that is one of the things I loved about her the most. She is who she is, and there is nothing that needs to be changed about her - except for her thoughts about herself.

She has had some pretty crappy people in her life, but now she has found Rusty (after kind of stalking him around town) he is bringing her out of her shell, showing her how amazing she is.

There is a bit of drama surrounding Alison - there are some pretty iffy people in her life that made me want to slap the crap out of them. Seriously would have throat punched them if I could have!
