THIS IS THE SECOND BOOK IN A TWO-BOOK DUET. IF YOU HAVE NOT YET READ CHASING THE DRAGON, PLEASE START THERE.

RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 18 & UP DUE TO STRONG LANGUAGE, EXPLICIT SEXUAL SITUATIONS, AND VIOLENCE.

I should have resisted him, but I couldn’t. My addiction to him was all-consuming, the high from his touch unlike any other.

Without him, I couldn’t focus, couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe.

With him, I hated myself for being too weak to fight the devil himself.

And Tyler Burnham was the devil.

He used me.

He lied to me.

But he loved me. And he still does.

Unable to stop thinking about the man who deceived her, Mackenzie Delano struggles to move on with her life and forget that Tyler Burnham ever walked into her life. But she still aches for him, despite his betrayal. Her mind is at war with her heart, a war that could be the difference between living and dying.

Tyler Burnham is lost without Mackenzie. As he contemplates the meaning of everything, he tries to find a way to prove that his feelings for her are true. That he would walk through fire to keep her at his side. That he would sacrifice it all…his career, his fortune, his life…to protect her.

The truth is, he may just have to…

Just when I think T.K. Leigh can't top herself, she does it again!!!! Imagine if you had to choose between your job and the woman you love. Well, that's exactly what Tyler has to do. Which will he choose? There are a lot of twists and turns in this one, each sentence drawing you into the story more than the last sentence. What I love about her writing is she makes you feel like a fly on the wall, watching the action. Trust me... You won't be able to put this one down until you read the last sentence.

5.0 out of 5 stars TK Leigh is a genius!!! 13 October 2015
By Lin Cohen - Published on Amazon.com

You'd think that after reading each and every one of T.K Leigh's books, It would be easier to review them.
Well, you thought wrong because this woman left me once again with no words.
I'm not sure what the hell is going on in this little head of hers, but HELL I love this little brilliant head!
I received an ARC for an honest review and I'm so grateful for that because I had the time to process everything. As you all read on Chasing the Dragon, the roller coaster and the cliffhanger at the end were mind blowing! So don't except less with this one…
Slaying the Dragon continues Mackenzie and Tyler's story after the revelation of Tyler's deception on CTD. They're both staying apart from each other for a while and struggle through it. But when the struggle becomes too hard, forgiveness and trust becomes their main one.
While they're trying to figure out how to re-build their relationship, the investigation about Mackenzie's father is getting more and more complicated and new revelations makes them fight for everything they have.
I can't say nothing more about the plot without revealing spoilers so get yourselves ready for a hell of a ride with this breathtaking story, full of suspense, surprises and heartwarming love.
Oh, and TK, if you have more of this perfect Burnham Blood around you, you know where to send it right??? I'm still single… Just sayin'…
Thank you, again and again and again for being such a genius!

5.0 out of 5 stars T.K. Leigh Slay's your heart and rebuild's one page at a time. 13 October 2015
By Carrie Renteria - Published on Amazon.com

Slaying the Dragon is probably the most anticipated book of the year...and I must say that T.K. Leigh definitely delivered. The sheer brilliance that exudes from each and every page will astound you from the moment you start reading this captivating book. Get ready because T.K. Leigh not only creates a captivating story, but weaves a spell binding web that will keep you glued to the edge of your chair the entire time.

Slaying the Dragon opens with Mackenzie's pain and devastation something we are all too aware of from Chasing the Dragon. What I love about T.K. is her ability to connect a reader and a character. I felt Mack's emotions I cried with her, was angry with her, shocked and surprised with her. It was a never-ending roller-coaster ride of emotions and I wouldn't change it for the world. I was hoping to see Tyler right away from the beginning and get right to it and figure this out but T.K. had other plans. Slaying The Dragon is a slow build like a graceful couple on a dance floor you could watch for hours waltzing their way around the ballroom. It was a necessary build for the way the story went and I was not disappointed at all. I feel like everything was wrapped up in a nice tight little package. I didn't think it was possible but I fell even more in love with the characters of this book.

The chemistry between Tyler and Mackenzie is so incredible and you truly want things to work out for them you're rooting for them from the beginning. You will fall in love with Tyler Burnham from the moment your eyes touch the page. He will become your wildest dreams, your guilty pleasure, your indulgence. Your new book boyfriend, other book boyfriends will just have to take a backseat because the younger Mr. B is definitely taking the reigns now.

The ending definitely was my favorite part I love how it was all wrapped up. The twists and turns that T.K. threw in completely shocked me but that's normal she usually shocks me in the most fantastic way. I was glued to my kindle from the moment I opened it and couldn't get enough of this incredibly deceptive world and by the time it was over my head was reeling with the fact that...it truly is over this is The End.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love. Deceit. Angst. Fulfillment. Happiness. 13 October 2015

2 sleepless nights. Some amount of tissue. Snacks and drinks. Those are what you need while reading this book.

What does a girl have to do to escape the demons of her past? Change her identity, relocate, and start over. She tried to stay on track, on schedule. Suddenly this man enters her life, and everything she tried to hard to avoid was shoved right in front of her. What she doesn't know, there was a hidden agenda to why this man wanted to be close to her. But they both didn't expect to fall in love quickly, therefore upsetting the balance of both their lives. Lust, love, then lies. Trust was lost, hearts were broken.

In my opinion, this series is better than The Beautiful Mess. The intricacies this story has - how Ms. Leigh worked everything out, I just do not have the words. I can just imagine the research she has done, written notes on what she wants to happen, and maybe a flowchart on her desk on how she worked this all out.

I've shed tears, my chest heavy and hurting. This rivals the roller coaster of emotion I felt in The Beautiful Mess, but this seems heavier. Love. Lust. Loneliness. Fulfillment. Happiness. Just a few of the things you can expect to feel while reading this book. Every single character had an important role to play. Even little Melanie had her moments!

This book might be the best read of 2015 for me, and the year isn't even over yet! Murder - Mystery - Romance - Suspense, it's all there!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, what an ending to an awesome read. The Deception Duet has been Awesome. 13 October 2015
By Rachel Bound by Books - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Well, it's over, and I'm sad. I always feel that way when I finish a book by TK Leigh, and Slaying the Dragon is no exception to that rule. I don't know how she does it. I guess she's just that good at what she does.
Even though I continually say I don't NEED an HEA, I'm usually happy that find one, and for Mackenzie and Tyler, that again, is no exception to the rule. I think maybe because her characters are so real and her writing is so gritty and raw. The words ALWAYS seem to go along with the actions and you FEEL the story. You can envision each and every "scene" like it was playing out in front of you. All the action, the suspense, the drama...and OH MY GOD, not only does she do those exceptionally well, but the sexy? OH Lord...it's no wonder her books linger in my head...right along with the Burnhams.
The attraction between Tyler and Mackenzie is out of this world..The sexual tension radiates, the twists and turns that TK Leigh does so well abound and you get absorbed into the story. If you can put it down, I'd be amazed...and I dare you to not be sad at the end of the Deception Duet...not with the story, but with the fact that it's over...and you don't want to pick up another book for a couple of days...you want to continue basking in all that is the Burnhams.
Once again, an amazing tale from TK Leigh.

5.0 out of 5 stars T.K. Leigh's best book yet! 13 October 2015
By Melissa Mattern - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Reviewed for A Wanton Book Lover Blog

T.K. Leigh did not disappoint with her newest release, Slaying the Dragon, book 2 of the Dark Duet series. IT. WAS. PHENOMENAL! Slaying the Dragon immediately picks-up where Chasing the Dragon left off. Olivia has found out the secret Tyler was hiding from her by accident. She is gutted. Olivia continues to live her life without Tyler in. She prepares for the baby and finds a few new trust-worthy friends and confidants along the way. Eventually, Olivia and Tyler must face each other and decide if they have a future together and what that future will look like. Tyler continues to look for answers involving the crimes against Mackenzie's father, at the same time protecting Mackenzie and his unborn baby.
Slaying the Dragon took me as a reader on a ride of emotions. From wanting to slap Tyler or his big brother Alexander upside the head to falling in love with them again. In addition, the overall story was beautifully written. There was suspense, intrigue, mystery, romance, and surprises that came out of no where. Tyler was given the opportunity to redeem himself and has now become my #1 Burnham brother (shhh...don't tell Alexander). T.K delivered the perfect ending to Slaying the Dragon. It was a book that I couldn't wait to read but was disappointed when it ended. I absolutely loved it.
