Is theirs a match made in heaven…or hell?

Nick Channing, drummer for Fully Automatic, has never taken relationships seriously. He’s had fun and met dozens of women—mostly one-night stands—and he prefers it that way. From his parents to his friends, he’s witnessed love and relationships firsthand and believes women are nothing but a headache.

Nick, Brad, and Val team up again to launch her new band Val Hella. There’s one problem, though: they still need a bassist. They audition dozens of women, trying to find the perfect one and settle on Sabrina, known onstage simply as Sinna, a bad ass metal head who’s perfect for the band: pierced, tattooed, dressed in black from head to toe, and she handles her bass with precision. She is a force to be reckoned with and Nick is smitten.

When Nick gets her alone the first time to lay on the charm, he’s met with a coolness he’s never experienced. Sabrina is mysterious and thoroughly unimpressed with Nick and his behavior, and that’s when he decides he has to have her. As he falls headlong for her, he discovers her secrets, one dark shadow at a time. He thinks she loves him back, but he can’t be sure. By the time he’s completely down the rabbit hole, his heart’s so entangled, he fears he might not be able to save himself. Can she save him or will she wreck him for all time?

Slash and Burn by Jade Jamison
I received this book from the author for a honest review.
So if you know me, you know I am a Daddy Brad girl right? You remember the angst and drama from Bullet right? You remember hating people and loving others and wanting to punch people in the face right? Oh that was just me? ANYWAY, all I can say is be ready!!! Have your “guns” under control. Keep your Kindle near soft pillows for when you throw them…because trust me you will!! I was messaging Jade saying “NOOOOO!!!” a few times and “But what about…………..” AND do you know what she told me *sarcasm* “ a good author never tells” *rolls eyes* PFT!! WHATEVER!!!
So Nick…lets talk ok. To me he was kind of a stranger. I mean we saw pieces of him in the series but really, I didn’t know him except that he always seemed to interrupt Brad and Val back in the day. He was a player and didn’t make any kind of excuse. He was not going to settle down. PERIOD. Love was for suckers. He saw first had what a bad relationship was like with his parents and even the Brad/Val/Ethan triangle gave him bad vibes. He was Mr. Gonna-Be-Single-ForEvah! He was happy hanging with his bestie/nanny Gracie. They have an awesome friendship and she knows exactly what he needs.
Val and the guys need a bass player and in walks Brina/Sinna. Nick is SOLD!! He wants to do anything to get her under him. However she is sooo not having it. Why you ask? Welp she has a girlfriend. Yes you read it right a GIRLFRIEND. *snaps fingers* Darn it. But wait, She is Bi annnd wants to have him “play” for the night! *Double Snap* ALLLLL Righty!!
Well things happen and guess what? Nick falls crazy, head first in love with Brina the most self-centered, selfish, hurtful, aggressive woman to ever walk the face of this Earth. (Ok so I really REALLY hated Ethan in Bullet but my hate for Brina was off the Ethan Charts!!! Yeah that bad!!) I will say the MFF scenes are super hawt and Jade gets a 10 star rating on those babies!! Ok back to my review, Brina and Nick’s relationship begins to really be toxic for Nick. But what can he do? He is in love with her!!! She is in love with herself and what makes her happy……sadly it may not be Nick.
I really and truly cannot say anymore. I need you to read this book. I need you to love Nick like I do. I need you to realize that sometimes Love isn’t enough……Sometimes Love hurts………….But sometimes the right Love can come along right when you open your eyes to the possibilities………………..

5.0 out of 5 stars Nick is a sweetheart who is just misunderstood...hotter than hot with a touch of honey =) 20 January 2015

OK...I've said it before and I'll say it again...I am HUGE fan of the Bullet series. As far as I'm concerned Jade Jamison has written THE best rocker book series of all of the ones I have read. Her characters are fully developed, complex and you can find parts of them you love and hate...just like any real person you know. I am a big supporter of the Brad/Val love story (although I also have a soft spot for reformed bad-boy Ethan) and now with Slash and Burn, we get to see a bit more of the drummer Nick...the king of the one-night-stand.
This book takes place before, during and after the time period in which the novella Christmas Stalkings takes place. Brad is helping Val get her new band Val Hella started so that she can get back into her love of music, while still raising their two kids (Ethan's son and their baby girl). Now that they have a wonderful nanny Gracie to help and Fully Automatic is more or less on a break while all the members branch out to try new things, this is the perfect time to get back into the studios and on the road. Nick has come on board to help out on drums and that leaves only hiring a new bassist to complete the band.
Enter Sabrina (Brina, Sinna) and Nick is all in despite the hesitation of Brad and Val at first...because he is lusting after the hot and darkly dangerous looking young woman. Of course her talent lands her a spot and they are in the studios, on the road touring and life just takes a detour into the unreal as Nick becomes a man lost in his emotions and suddenly unsure of himself, for the first time ever.
Sabrina has some secrets of her own and when she and Nick enter into a strange and complicated relationship of sorts, things take a darker and messed up path. Nick finds himself turning more and more towards his best friend for comfort and advice and what happens during the course of this journey is very unexpected but oh so satisfying.
I won't spoil all the very interesting, steamy hot and at times downright upsetting things that happen in this book, but suffice it to say that Jamison once again gets into her characters in such a way that you will feel real emotions towards, compassion and perhaps even a little hatred.
I highly recommend this one if you have read the other books in the will get plenty of Val and Brad in domesticated bliss plus you just might discover that Brad isn't the only best book boyfriend you ever read about...Nick is an absolute sweetheart and deserves to be understood and have his HEA with the right girl.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nick the playa... 19 January 2015

I'm a big fan of the Bullet series. I really enjoyed seeing Val back in the music scene, writing songs and singing again. It's so cool that she has her own band now, Val Hella. Fully Automatic is still going, but Brad & Nick are part of Val's band too. Brad & Val are still such a great couple, they deserve it after all they've been through. Now it's time to pull the band together, find a bass player, and hit the road on tour. Being the female lead singer, Val would prefer to have another woman join the band as a bass player. Not likely that she will find that special someone, but you never know who might show up at an audition. It was kind of humorous and reminded me of some bad American Idol auditions as I experienced it inside Nick's head. There was instant attraction when he first laid his eyes on Sabrina (aka Sinna) the first time, well, at least on his side. He was practically invisible to her, she totally ignored him when she wasn't shooting him down. Being the drummer for a very successful band has its perks and he has never been in short supply of women begging to be with him. He's not had to put forth any effort, until now. He can't help being drawn to her, she is a bada$$ bass player with talent, beauty, and balls. He has his sights set on her and he's not giving up. Nick has always been the funny, cute guy that everyone loves to hang around, until her. He was always good for a laugh, and a lay, but only for a night. He's not the relationship type, or at least he never has been before. That's kinda understandable after you get to know his history, which you will in Slash and Burn. The more I get to know these band members and their women, the more I love them. Jade's way of writing about them is so smooth I just fall into the book, immersed and consumed, hidden in the studio, the tour bus, backstage, and even in the bedroom. She puts me right there, it gets cramped in those bunks on the tour bus, but oh so HOT!

Another great book in an outstanding series by one of my absolute favorite authors! Jade has done it again! I have loved Nick since Bullet, but I just fell in love with him even more. *swoon*
What took me by surprise is that Nick has become my favorite. I didn’t think anyone could take the place of Brad, but he did, in spades. There were many times I wanted to let loose on Brina, OMG what a b*tch! Of course, there were also times that, damn, I wanted to be Brina! *fans face* Holy hell, talk about some HOT scenes! I think one of my favorite phrases in the book is “the cock wants what the cock wants”.
I felt every emotion reading this book, and that is due to Jade’s outstanding writing. I have to say, I think this is my favorite in the series so far. I just may go back and read them all again just to make sure. :)
There is much more I want to say about this book, but I don’t want to give anything away. I will say that I love how things turned out and I want so much more of all of them. I would love to see how the next tour goes and maybe get a little more history on why Brina is the way she is.
This is by far one of my favorite series and I hope I have done some sort of justice trying to express my love of Slash and Burn. This is a definite must read. S&B can be read as a stand alone, but to fully grasp the characters and their backgrounds, make sure to start with Bullet and read them in order. You won’t be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reading books 1 through 4 are a must to love this series as it should be loved 23 January 2015

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

Slash and Burn is the 5th book in the Bullet series. Reading books 1 through 4 are a must to love this series as it should be loved.

That being said, there were some things I loved about this book and there were some things that I did not. Don't get your panties in a bunch, I am a huge fan of Jade's and that will never change.

I loved Nick from book one, there was always something about him I wanted to know more about. I am finally glad he got his turn. Brinna was an added bonus, she is rock and roll, she is bad ass, and she is a b*tch.Did I like her, no but I don't think we were supposed to. Getting picks of Brad (and Val) always make me happy!

I can't get into specifics without giving spoilers and I'm not that girl, but what I will say is I wanted to see MORE. At the end...I wanted more!

Can't wait to rock out with Val Hella / Fully Automatic again soon!
