Slade had moments where I wanted to smack him for his behaviour, like when they were in the forest trying to survive, Trisha was freezing and she could only share his body heat if she rubbed his private parts?!?! Say what!!! Really....but she did and of course they ended up having sex in the dirt...wow!!!
I loved the friendship Trisha developed with Brass, Harley and Moon, their banter was funny and cute. Trisha was a good h and she certainly handled all that she went through rather well I thought.
Must admit that Valiant may have stolen a little bit of Slade's thunder at times, I really am looking forward to picking up his story, he really intrigue me a lot.
For me it seemed like it ended really abruptly, like bam.... the end! It was going along nicely and then just stops, no easing into or anything, that was a little disappointing and I honestly thought I may be missing the rest of the book, just not sure lol?!?!?!
Again loved the existing and new characters and look forward to continuing the series. Overall a good addition to the series.
After being attacked Trisha is followed around by a gang of animal/men bodyguards who cause quite a few laughs. They are crude, loyal and witty. And poor Trisha needs laughs because she has been deserted by the man she loves and attacked by a hate group. Like the other books in this series this is a combination of erotica, hate activists and the sad past of the New Species. It’s poignant, funny and action packed. Fun reading.
Dr Trisha Norbit first meets Slade when he is bought into a public hospital injured after being saved from Mercile Industries during the raids.
A year later Trisha is working for the New Species at Homeland as the resident doctor.
Trouble is Slade does not remember her as that doctor due to her different hair colour.
Slade just keeps getting it wrong even after saving Trisha’s life when they are attacked by idiot human hunters and stranded in the wilds.
What follows is a very good read in this crazy new world Ms Dohner has created.
The way these New Species appreciate every little thing around them after being raised in cells, labs and the abuse they have suffered, just makes me want to hug them all.
I have reread these books numerous times and still love them completely each and every time I read one.
I have reviewed them previously but there has been a problem with reviews disappearing. I understand how important reviews are for authors and as it is no hardship to read them once again, I am writing reviews as I work through the series.
This fast paced and smooth flowing plot holds readers captive with lots of action, suspense and passion. The story comes to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and the fascinating world ensures that the readers want to know more. The action scenes are exciting and believable and the strong, bewitching characters draw the readers deeper into the story.
Due to some misunderstandings, Slade and Trisha have avoided their attraction for each other, but when circumstances throw them together in the wilderness they can no longer fight their strong desires, the relationship is far from perfect through more misunderstandings and the consequences of their time together is more complicated than anything they have dealt with so far, but the sex scenes are hot enough to burn down the wilderness…now if they could just get those pesky misunderstandings under control. The reader can’t help but get caught up in this roller coaster relationship and fascinating interaction between Trisha and Slade and anticipation builds as the reader waits to find out just how they handle the latest development in the New Species world.
The humans are still causing havoc in the New Species world with new enemies and betrayals ensuring they don’t catch a break. There is never a dull moment in Slade and Trisha’s story which kept me spellbound until I had read every last world and I can’t wait to discover what happens next. A side note: The story can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the series in sequence to get the full understanding and impact of the New Species’ fight to exist.

Sent on a mission to the New Order Reservation, their truck is forced off the road and Slade and Trisha are on the run for their lives.
Again, from Fury's book, there is sex in this book, but not as much as you'd expect from and Ellora's Cave publication, but then again, Trisha and Slade spend most of this book apart!
I love the background story, the New Order's fight for their place in the world, and the idiots who wish to stop them. We meet several new charcters, as well as some previous ones, along with a whole new set of people who have suffered more, and are more animal than human. the road is laid for the next book, Valiant.
I already have Valiant waiting to be read, but reading the blur on all the other books, its all New Order male with human female. I would like to have seen some the other way round, so whether or not I will get them all, remains to be seen. they are all on my wish list though :-)
