This series has gone on too long. At the start is seemed refreshing and interesting but boy, it’s becoming a slog. Everything is starting to feel formulaic, mistakes in the grammar/writing impact the flow and the characters have lost their lustre. I can’t believe there are eight more books to go. Sorry, I give up!

Too depressingReviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 February 2014
It has got to the stage with this book that I no longer want to read more of the sorcerers ring it is too depressing. Up to this point there has always been hope for the main characters. But with this book I have only read about three chapters and instead of looking forward to a good read I pick it up and read about one page and put it down because I have list the desire to continue in fact I think I will give up on it and read something else.

FantasticReviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 December 2013
Still a magnificent series and very easy to read. I just had to read it the minute it was available and couldn't put it down. There is a hole in my life now and i'm waiting for book #10 to fill it!! You're drawn in and hooked from the start to the finish with such wonderful characters and vivid descriptions of the landscape you are transported into their whole world and live every minute with them. Book #10 quick, please!
A Sky of Spells is a rattling good yarnReviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 January 2014
The book is great with a busy storyline as ever. Spelling mistakes and even simple errors abound but as long as you read with your heart and not your mind thinking about these woe some errors then it flows along without a break. Difficult book to put down, there is so much going on in so many places that you need to keep sharp and make sure you follow the individuals and their plots. Looking forward to the next one which I have already downloaded. And so
twists and turns and beautifully crafted. I love this whole seriesReviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 March 2018
If you ignore the grammar then the pace, twists and turns and beautifully crafted. I love this whole series. Morgan is the best in fantasy by a long shot so far.
Good idea gone badReviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 December 2013
This is a very annoying series as despite the world that Rice has created the poor writing, bad typos, repetitive phrases and in some instances wrong names given to characters makes it hard to lose yourself in the plot. I really regret reading the first book as I do feel I want to know what happens next, although it does seem to be more of the same in each book.
