Pros: easy for small hands
fits inside matching backpack
clips outside matching backpack or other backpack, stroller, etc
insulated for keeping food cold
inside mesh for holding silverware, napkin, etc.
Cons: once it is in the backpack there is not much room for anything else. That being said the backpack is toddler size.
My daughter was so excited. She just loves taking her own lunch places.
It was a different style, the cat to match her backpack. Hopefully this one holds up much longer.
I can’t rate the durability, or how easy it is to clean. I just received it yesterday. That’s why I four stars, and obviously because my daughter had this lunch bag in a different style and it didn’t hold up.
**update** I just noticed that insulated part it’s beginning to peel. I have been extremely careful when wipeing it, and of course I dont put in the washer or dryer.
I was really hoping this time it wouldnt fall apart like the first lunch bag did.
I hoped because it’s a newer different style then the first bag, that it wouldn’t happen again. ☹️
After a few months of use for the ladybug lunch box, the flower detail fell off the zipper. This little detail is how you pull the zipper so it was a major bummer. I solved the problem of how I would pull the zipper by putting in a key chain ring. That ring has been in place for over a year with no issues. Its not cute, but it is functional. Not removing a star because I like them and the monkey lunch box is still fine.
I like that the lunch box has a little mesh pocket. I use it to contain ice packs, napkins or cutlery. It keeps items fresh and cold for about 4 hours in the heat with two ice packs. After that time frame, I'm not sure I'd trust it unless items are still cold.
This lunch box is the right size for a small kid lunch for preschool. You will need the right containers though. It is a relatively small lunchbox, with a rounded top so it is sometimes hard to fit larger containers.
When my daughter was attending a Mother's Day out program, I had no trouble fitting her lunch. We are homeschooling now and mostly use it to take snacks for me and 2 kids when we go out. We used to use both: one for items that need refrigeration and one for items that do not like crackers. It worked well for us until recently, as my son is now 5 and eats an actual regular amount of food. For this reason, I've started to use a larger lunch box if we will be out of the house for a while. But it's fine for toddlers and mom.
I put a thin ice pack in the mesh area and use a YUMBOX bento box for his actual lunch. It's a tight squeeze but it works, even with a juice pouch in there too. The little honeycomb pull on the zipper has held up nicely as well. Overall it's an adorable little lunch tote and I'll order another for my daughter when she's old enough.
