It helped me feel comfortable asserting my parental authority in facing dealing with this issue, e.g. empowered me to feel okay with asserting rules about how much she had to eat because being underweight is so serious.
.The book emphasizes that for the brain to function optimally, people also need adequate nutrition and calories. And we saw this play out. Our daughter was happier and more energetic when she getting enough food and she commented on it, too.
Also, it conveyed how serious of a problem it is but gave hope and skills for improvement. Informational and guiding! I draw upon it regularly.
