This book was the first of the series and as much as I felt it was a little up and down I still enjoyed it. I'm very much looking forward to book 2 as I need to know what happens. I would say this is a teen novel. I would recommend it to people who enjoy reading YA novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars I need book 2 now! 15 March 2016

I love Max! He's confident, funny, and humble. Whenever someone needs help, he actively searches for a solution. But his life flips upside down after an incident at a party. Secrets surrounded him, and the people he care about are in danger.

With the help of his friends, Max learns how to embrace his powers to fight against evil. There's so many complex characters, you don't know who to trust or believe. Even some of the angels are questionable. This action packed journey is exhilarating, and I regret not reading this sooner.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fall into Wrath 14 August 2014

Sins of the Fallen has edge and surprise throughout. Espinosa has created a unique world where the seven deadly sins take on a whole new meaning. It was fabulous in creativity, and I completely enjoyed this aspect.

Max is the main character, told from a male's POV, which I totally liked. It's been some time since I found a MPOV that I enjoyed reading so much. Max loves his family with his entire heart, even when secrets are withheld. His mother taught him right, and he treats women with kindness and respect. I really enjoyed his interaction with Melanie. She was a breath of fresh air in his chaotic new world. All-in-all, Max rocked his crazy life.

My one complaint is that this story could have benefited if it had gone through one more round of editing. The errors weren't enough to stop me from reading, but it did have me pausing every so often.

Favorite character? Melanie.
Favorite scene? Where Max puts Melanie in her bed.
Favorite quote? "I hope that if we ever meet again Melanie Walker, I'll be a better person."
Would I recommend this? Yes, to fans of YA who enjoy more action than romance.

this was one crazy ride from page one! I loved that max doesn't know anything and you, as the reader, get to learn everything with him. A wonderful read! I can't wait for the next book!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Debut 21 February 2014

I really liked this ya paranormal novel. I'm a huge fan of books that aren't afraid to venture out into uncharted territories, and Sins of the Fallen fits the bill. If you enjoy books with demon/angel plots, you'll like this one! It's written in first person, which I generally enjoy when it comes to paranormal reads. I'll be watching for the next one in this series, I'm ready to see where the author will go with it.
5.0 out of 5 stars falling in love with this series, I picked up book two already! 9 December 2015

I am still reading this but I initially picked up the digital copy (this here), but recently got a paperback as I was tired of killing my phone battery between classes. I am turning into a big fan of Karina Espinosa's writing as I first read her Mackenzie Gray series (werewolves).

When i finish reading it I will update my review but just wanted to let others know so far its a great read and omg the imagination on this girl!
