I'm actually really disappointed by this book. I even read the prequel to get the insight into this book but man, I finished it feeling really unsatisfied.. Rogue has to be the most annoying character I've ever read. Shes very immature (is 26?!) And carries this heavy chip on her shoulder, oh woe is me, everything bad only happened to me. I'm not saying the guys aren't without blame, but far out, she had 10 years to move past a 16 year old teenagers thinking and now she's an adult, and still acts like the world is against her.. seriously. Grow up. She doesn't listen when they try to explain why they had to leave her, she acts like a spoilt brat like it was all their fault and she's the victim..grrrr sorry but I didn't really like anything about her, except for her hair.
Please please put some serious growth into this girl and make her a more likeable character 🙏

Yasss! This book is EVERYTHING!
.
JJ, omg I fricken love him. I mean, I love all the characters but JJ gave me life. Rogue is such a strong, independent and resilient character and I love her. I absolutely felt her rage and pain and betrayal throughout the book. She’s definitely one of my favourite FMC and I can see very great things for our unicorn haired warrior. Fox, this is probably an unpopular opinion but I love him and his POV is so fascinating with his stalker ways. I know it’s probably not meant to come across as it but he’s very amusing to me and he can go caveman on me anyday.
.
Chase. He’s definitely got some redeeming to do. Like bruh. I understand where he’s coming from in wanting to protect the guys but his tendency to assume situations aggravates me to no end. So much could have been avoided if he just communicated but instead he assumes. Maverick. I mean he’s the definition of tall dark and sexy that’s for sure. Definitely get his feeling of betrayal and revenge. I would have loved to see more of his POV instead of just the one but I have a feeling we will get more in the next book and I cannot wait for it. There’s so much there still to uncover.
.
The world building of this book is incredible. I can definitely see the big picture and there’s great details and vivid imagery. It feels so tangible also I cannot get enough. It’s definitely on the darker gritty side and I love that. I love the sheer brutality and the depth of the book. There’s so much going on behind the scenes as well as what we are seeing it’s definitely a mystery and the suspense builds nicely over the book, even when it’s in the background at times.
.
Full of angst, secrets, pain, betrayal and so much drama, this book will have you salivating for more before you have even finished the book. The plot is incredible and I love how Caroline and Susanne really take the time to take you on a journey. The highs and lows, the light and dark, all of it was incredible and amazingly written. I absolutely loved this ride.

"Sinner's Playground" is the first book of the "Harlequin Crew" by the best-selling Authors Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. Told in multiple perspectives , this book was a wild ride of emotions for me!
First of all , if you have never read a book by these authors , then it is time to climb out of that rock you have been living under and get to reading! They have some amazing series ranging from fantasy-bully to high school- bully. The one thing that I can guarantee you their books will have will be heartache and so much Humor with sass! The books are hot and don't even get me started on their ANTI-HEROES. It will be a never ending talk on that topic.
Another thing I would like to tell you guys , or rather warn you about will be the Cliffhangers these authors have. You must have read Cliffhangers that make you crazy and send you on a murder spree just to get your hands on the next book , trust me , these authors have Cliffhangers that are much much worse than that! So Beware.
"Sinner's Playground" was a book that literally had everything I looked for in a book when I am about to read it! It was revenge based with a complete sassy heroine who doesn't hesitate to put the heroes in their places whenever they are overstepping their boundaries.
Rogue has to be one of the most sassy characters that I have ever encountered. The things that came out of that woman's mouth were something else and I couldn't help but admire her for her courage and survival techniques. She has so much will even after being betrayed by the four boys whom she gave her heart too. Now she is back in her hometown and now it is the chance of those boys to suffer for what they did to her.
Then there were some of the best male characters that I have ever encountered. JJ was the Joker of the group. He was equal parts hot and Funny and I couldn't help but love him the most. Fox was the broody man of the group. He was very very overprotective and borderline obsessive. Which of course my crazy personality found hot!
The next one was Chase. He was the character of the boys whom I loved the least. The things he pulled throughout the book had me disliking him even more and I hope he redeems himself in the future because his chances of being good are very less in my eyes. Then there was Maverick. He also used to be a part of the Harlequin boys. That is until they all betrayed him and sent him to jail. Now all he wants is their blood on his hands and he is not scared to use Rogue to accomplish that.
The whole book was very long in length and the ending was something that I definitely did not see coming!!! That Cliffhanger was very brutal and had my salivating for more from these characters! I hope the next book gets released soon because something tells me that it is gonna be an even more epic ride than this one! A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there , especially the ones who love second chance reverse harem sassy Romance!

Rollercoaster of emotions for reverse harem lovers!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 November 2020Verified Purchase
Sinners' Playground is the first instalment in the Harlequin Crew series, a dark friends-to-enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend reading Devil's Pass, the prequel novella set 10 years before this book. You will get a much better understanding of the characters’ background and you will enjoy so much more seeing the changes in them.
Caroline and Susanne are one-click authors for me, not many authors make me feel so much with their characters and stories so I always not-so-patiently wait for their next release. And this book...
The feelings oooohh the feelings!!!
It might be the darkest and most controversial book they have written but I absolutely loved it! There is violence, gangs, lies, hurt, betrayal and drama-drama. You won’t like all the characters, you will want to punch some of them but I was so fascinated while reading all the bad decisions they were making and waiting to see what was coming next.
I loved Rogue, the main female character, her strengths and her weaknesses, she is a broken dead girl trying to survive. I loved seeing her relationship growing with the girls she met and also with her dog, not focusing only on the guys. I think that is a part that many stories lack where we only see the main character with the love interest and we don’t learn many things about them as individuals. The boys are gang members and they all have completely different personalities, some way more likeable than others. You have the sweet JJ (my fav so far), the jealous/possessive Fox, the hateful Chase and the mysterious/psycho Maverick (I need more of him like right now). Apart from being part of a gang, JJ is an escort and I can’t wait to see how this plays out, it is not a conventional job in romance books so I am excited to read about it. The romance side is a slow/medium-burn with so much sexual tension.
Plot wise, this book is an introduction setting all characters on the board and I can’t wait for the big players to show, a gang war is definitely coming and I am going to start getting the popcorn ready to watch hell to come down!
I highly recommend it if you love reading about flawed characters and all the drama. The book ends with a promise of the best is to come and the next book cannot come out soon enough!!

Another incredible start to a very promising series!

This book is simply amazing. I highly recommend you read the Devil's Pass novella set 10 years in the past before reading this one.
Sinners' Playground starts with Rogue coming back onto the scene dramatically, and from then on it's just non stop tense buildup.
I love this book because it has a slow burn, really digging deep into the characters, and how they have been affected by the past. Rogue is amazingly strong as a female character and from the start you really get behind to cheer her on. She demands respect.
The boys also have their own stories and their individual personalities shine through. I love some a lot more than others! This is a fantastic start to a series, and I'm hesitant to say...because I Love the others, but I think this may be my new favourite series. It's amazing!!

Wow! What a start for a series!!!

I have just closed the cover on this book and wow, just wow.
This new series just lept right in with all the feels. I love the main character Rogue, she's fiesty and stubborn and so self reliant and determined. What's not to love.
The boys are fantastic too. I've lived them, cursed them and wanted to slap some sense into them.
The story follows Rogue as she returns to her home town after 10 years away. It's an unexpected return for her and some long left 'friends'. We join Rogue as she juggles her various relationships and her hearts desires that even she's trying to ignore.
I have absolutely no idea where the rest of this series is going to go but from the little breadcrumbs scattered throughout the book it's going to be an emotional roller-coaster for the characters and readers.
I've pre-ordered book 2 already, bring it on ladies!!
