Praise for THE COINCIDENCE OF COCONUT CAKE
Deliciously entertaining! Amy E. Reichert's voice is warm and funny in this delightful ode to second chances and the healing power of a meal cooked with love.--Meg Donohue, USA Today bestselling author of ALL THE SUMMER GIRLS and HOW TO EAT A CUPCAKE "RT Book Reviews, four-star review"
Praise for LUCK, LOVE & LEMON PIE
"As irresistible and delicious as an actual slice of lemon pie, Luck, Love & Lemon Pie has all of the sweet ingredients that make a book impossible to put down. From the fallible yet lovable characters to the smart writing and layered plot, we tore through the pages of this thought provoking story. Amy E. Reichert has a flair for writing heartwarming fiction that will give you sweet cravings!"--Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke, authors of THE YEAR WE TURNED FORTY and THE STATUS OF ALL THINGS "Melissa D'Agnese, First for Women Magazine"
The Coincidence of Coconut Cake is a smart and delicious debut--a read as satisfying as the last bite of dessert after a lovingly-prepared meal. The novel is as much a celebration of the midwest and regional food as it is a love story between chef Lou and food critic Al. I adored Lou and her quirky makeshift family of restaurant customers and co-workers. Their missteps and milestones kept me racing through the chapters, craving another course.--Susan Gloss, author of the novel VINTAGE "RT Book Reviews, four-star review"
"...Reichert's quirky and endearing debut skillfully and slyly examines identity and community while its characters find love in surprising places. Clever, creative, and sweetly delicious."--Beth Harbison, New York Times bestselling author of IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME "Kirkus Reviews"
"Luck, Love & Lemon Pie delves into the complexities of marriage and what we're willing to do for the ones we love. With relatable characters and a lot of heart, Reichert delivers a story that is both entertaining and wise, and leaves you believing that, when it comes to true happiness, you can create your own luck."--Karma Brown, bestselling author of COME AWAY WITH ME "Melissa D'Agnese, First for Women Magazine"
"Luck, Love & Lemon Pie is touching, clever, and a hell of a lot of fun. Amy E. Reichert somehow manages to not only tell a stirring story about modern marriage, but also transport you poolside in Vegas. Simply put, Luck, Love & Lemon Pie is a great bet."--Taylor Jenkins Reid, author of MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE and AFTER I DO "Melissa D'Agnese, First for Women Magazine"
"A lot charming and a little bit magical, Reichert's latest is warm and poignant and romantic... between the humor and the heart lies a subplot of family and setting yourself free -- framed beautifully by a story that won't let go."--Karen White, New York Times bestselling author of The Guests on South Battery "RT Book Reviews (4 star review)"
"Amy E. Reichert takes the cake with this charming tale of food, friendship, and fate."--Beth Harbison, New York Times bestselling author of IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME "RT Book Reviews, four-star review"
"An enjoyable and thought-provoking exploration of a modern-day marriage in midlife crisis."--Colleen Oakley, author of BEFORE I GO "Kirkus Reviews"
"Brimming with hilarity, magic, and heartwarming unexpected relationships, The Simplicity of Cider is the ultimate ode to celebrating the dazzling splendor in small things. This will give you more fuzzy feelings than you can count."--Karen White, New York Times bestselling author of The Guests on South Battery "Redbook"

At the beginning I really enjoyed this book. I especially liked-- no maybe admired Sanna because she was true to herself and honest with all she said. But unfortunately it seemed like the last 1/4 was rushed to come to a happy conclusion. Sanna changed too much, much too quickly. I felt that she was no longer true to herself. I am not criticizing the end of the story, but the fact that there was a big chunk missing making the end sound false and not of the quality and care that was put into the begin.

I absolutely loved this book
Reviewed in the United States on 26 May 2017Verified Purchase
I absolutely loved this book. It was a nice clean and beautiful romance. This book had so many layers that made this story unique and addicting.
You have a man Issac, who takes his son on a trip to give him one last summer before he gives him devastated news. They stumble on this orchard that is run by a man Einars and his daughter Sanna. Sanna is a different type of women. She is tall, straight forward and not your typical flowery heroine. But the way Sanna loves her land that has been in her family for decades is beautiful and will have you loving and wishing you could walk and hang out at the orchards.
This story had so many layers, there was a little mystery, romance, heartbreak, healing. It really had everything and not to mention the way the author made the details of this orchard and the trees and the smells make you feel like you had been vacationing there an not just reading.
This book also wet my taste and smell. I wanted to taste what they grow. I wanted to be at the table when the items were cooked and taste and drink the what they land produces.
This book was such a great story for everyone! This one is a #MustRead

"As she sipped each one, an unmistakable color came to mind-different for each juice-and she finally understood the watercolor apple portraits above the fireplace".
― Amy E. Reichert, The Simplicity of Cider
3.5 stars.
I enjoyed this sweet story about a young woman struggling to keep her family's cider farm in business while falling in love with the new guy in town who lends a helping hand.
This isn't my usual sort of book but there is a sweetness here that just calls out to you. And through the book there is a yearning quality that frankly kind of brought me back to childhood. It is not my favorite book in the world but it is a sweetly told nostalgic read.
I also happen to love Cider and Cider Farms. Where I am from Cider is a big deal . I would say this is a good "in between" book. If one is sick of all the dark reads..and in my case there are many of those...this is a sweet read that will transport you to the cider farm which in this book's case is in Wisconsin.
I think I have used the word sweet three times! But that is seriously what comes to mind in regards to this book. That is not to imply there are not some sad and tragic happenings..there are.
But it is a warm and uncomplicated book and you will most likely fall in love with these fun characters as well as learning quite alot about what goes into cider making. 3.5 stars and I'd recommend.

An apple orchard is the perfect setting for a slow-burn romance b/w a prickly Midwesterner and a sweet single dad- I loved it!

I love Amy's books and this was no exception- perfect fall read and had more depth and quietness than her previous two novels, and the romance reminded me a little of those in Ann Rivers Siddons books.

Love. Family
Reviewed in the United States on 21 June 2018Verified Purchase
This book was sheer perfection.
There was loss. Love. Family. It's just beautiful, and at times, magical. There was so much woven into this book, that I found myself completely immersed. The descriptions of the orchards (a bit of a weakness for me since I was raised on one) I felt like I was there.
I completely identified with Sanna and her need to be alone. With how honest and blunt she could be and how she preferred nature to people. For me, she was a really unique heroine-one that I haven't really read before and it made her that much more interesting to me.
I loved Amy's writing so much, I bought The Coincidence of Coconut Cake and Luck, Love and Lemons as well.
