The quality of everything seems fine. The biggest and, first and foremost problem, is that there is NO color code on the thread. I got this for my gf and just found out today about the thread. If you run out of a color i hope you can figure out what color you need to finish. I've been with her at walmart trying to figure out what color she needs to complete a project. Since there are so many shades of gold It is almost impossible to figure out the color you need to finish. I would have to guess that there is no standardized code across manufacturers or even lot numbers within the same manufacturer to assure you have a consistent color. If anybody knows please comment on this. Also since my gf is doing pillow cases that will have to be washed, i have no idea about the color fastness of the thread. If you are making a "home sweet home" type of project that will be framed i have no idea how UV will effect the color. Any comments about the above would be appreciated. Checking to see if it's too late for a refund. For beginners it might be great. Unless it needs to last. I know if my kid or beginner made something i would want to cherish it and it should last...
I’m new to embroidery and made a quick purchase to get my hands on a kit to start practicing. I should have done more research before hand. I didn’t realize what ada cloth was. I was hoping to receive just plain fabric to work with. If you are new like me research the difference between cross stitch and embroidery and you’ll see that cross stitch uses different cloth and different patterns. (The ada cloth is thick with square like wholes for your needle) I don’t like this method as much so I was a little disappointed but that’s my fault for not researching that first.
Overall, this is a great cross-stitch starter kit. However, it's called an embroidery kit. The fabric included is specifically for cross-stitch. If you're looking for a cross-stitch kit, this is the one you want. If you want an embroidery kit, you're going to be disappointed.
My 14 year old daughter recently got into embroidery. She started with small little patches and quickly moved to more complex images. She asked if I could get her this kit to expand her skills and I happily obliged. This kit included everything she needed! I bought her a few extra strings as she uses certain colors more than others. This kit certainly has plenty of string options to get you started. This seems to be a great starter kit for anyone who finds an interest in the art of embroidery. 🧵👍🏻
This kit had everything I needed to start cross-stitching. I'm impressed by the amount and variety of colors of thread, and all of the other tools that are included are very useful. The supplies in it will last a long time. I would definitely purchase this again if I had to do it over.
Nice combination of colours but the paper for that holds the thread together falls off as soon as you touch it and there is no number for you use to identify the colours. Also I never received a pin cushion. The rings however have proven to be quite sturdy so far. I find the pins are soft and get bent very easily
