--Mystery Scene "Signal Loss comes through loud and clear as a crime novel that will send us back to Garry Disher's Australia for more."
--New York Journal of Books "Disher's vivid prose captures small-town Australia, and he skillfully interweaves three police investigations into an intriguing whole. The setting may be unfamiliar for most American readers, but they are sure to recognize the excellence of the mystery."

Very intriguing and fast paced novel. I've read a few books in the Peninsula Crime series and felt this is the best so far. Hal Challis and his team are credible and likeable characters, flaws and all, and each add their own personality to the story. This story is like a layered-cake - you have to get to the end to find the truth. Excellent

Have to consider Gary Disher as one of the top two or three Australian crime writers along with Peter Temple and Michael Robotham. Thee latest Peninsula crime novel scoots along at a great pace. It’s gritty exciting and consistent. I do recommend his new (to me anyway) character Alan Auhl in Under the Cold Bright Lights

Garry Disher is without peer in modern Australian crime fiction. His Peninsula series is great reading not only for for the depth of character development, but he plot lines which are set in an everyday environment. He captures the mood and setting of the diverse characters and lifestyles of an area which suffers from most modern urban problems amid a semi rural area, with both wealth and welfare poverty existing side by side.
Hal Challis continues to both captivate and confuse as the lead character in these novels. He's not the typical crimefighting hero, he's just like anyone else who is struggling with his own confidence at times although he is undoubtably an outstanding investigator.

Easy read, not complicated, well written. Not outstanding just a light read. Interesting to hear of all the local streets I remembered.

Complex interweaving plot which kept me turning pages. Familiar setting on the mornington peninsula. A lot of characters to track.

Love to see these characters develop through this series.
This book deals with very contemporary issues facing not only large cities, but also smaller rural towns.
More please Garry.

Not quite the usual Australian police procedural as the previous episodes and a bit soap opera but nonetheless very enjoyable. Disher is still the undiscovered gem.

Toll geschrieben!
