Product Description

These women won't run from a fight...or true love.

Meet the ladies of the Shrew & Company private investigation agency in these first three installments from the sexy, action-packed paranormal romance series. (Each story is available for individual purchase.)

Pursuing Patrick*
After an unregulated research trial warped her DNA and turned her into an honest-to-goodness mutant, detective Dana Slade became an unwilling initiate into the mysterious paranormal world. The new were-cat Patrick O’Dwyer could be the perfect partner Dana didn’t know she needed, but not if she can’t convince herself that another chance at love is worth the risks.

Framing Felipe
Sarah Miller isn’t interested in a relationship with a man who cheats death for a living, but something about Felipe Castillo has her enthralled. Perhaps it’s because the handsome acrobat seems to have just as many secrets as her…or even more.

Bryan's Betrayal
Were-bear lieutenant Bryan Ridge needs Shrew & Company’s help in overthrowing his group’s Alpha, and investigator Tamara Ursu has all the right qualifications for the job. She can help him if she can get past the wealth of distractions. Bryan’s bear is sniffing around for a mate, and for some strange reason, Bryan makes Tamara sick. Literally.

Strong women with special powers who were betrayed by men live interesting lives and find love, surely the best revenge. Who doesn't like an all female detective agency, solving cases and yet not sacrificing the fun of being girly. Great story, I've read them all, my only complaint? Holley trent writes too slow!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Find!!! 13 January 2015
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com

What a pleasant surprise! With no reviews, I went into this boxed set based on description and price. What I discovered is a fantastic bargain!! Trent started the series with a novella, then went to novels, each a standalone within a continuing storyline (or two). It is so good I have preordered book four. I wasn't familiar with Trent, but she has made my 'follow' list with this set. If you are like me, you know if a book is going to be something special within a few paragraphs. Only a cliffhanger can spoil an otherwise good read-and there are none of those here. Trent combines humor, action and romance seamlessly into her plots, along with strong characters and an engaging storyline. There are minor proofing errors, but they are easily overlooked and snark is fortunately kept to a minimum. These women can hold their own without being total brats. I highly recommend the set.

1. The Problem With Paddy. Dana has had it with men after her ex signed her up for a clinical trial that mutated her chromosomes. After being discharged from her job on the police force, she opened a private investigations agency, Shrew & Company, with the money she got from the resulting wrongful termination and medical lawsuits. Two years in, she has several employees, also mutated, and a solid reputation for finding missing persons. Then a pub manager hires her to find his missing boss, Patrick, but Patrick doesn't want to be found. At least not until after the full moon.
2. Framing Felipe. Sarah, a mutant and Dana' s second at Shrew & Company, is given a missing persons case after coming in from six weeks undercover work with the FBI. She is exhausted, but quickly finds Felipe, a circus aerial acrobat, hiding out in a barn near Patrick's mountain home. The Shrews soon learn that Felipe and his twin, who hired them, have been kept against their will by the circus' owner, who bought the brothers when they were five. And as the conflict between the Bears and Cats escalates, the Shrews also learn there are shifter impersonators with ties to the circus infiltrating the shifter groups, creating greater hostilities, and kidnapping shifters who are then forced to work in the circus.
3. Bryan' s Betrayal. Tamara has been assigned to locate Bryan, a born Bear who was kidnapped in the previous book and freed by the Shrews when they attempted to free Fabian, Felipe' s twin. Bryan was released from his alpha' s mind link while in captivity and is now working on a plan to overthrow the corrupt alpha. He convinces Tamara to help him, another solo side job for a Shrew. But there is much more in play than either realize.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this series! 14 December 2015

Love this series! This is the first 3 books in a plan for 5 series.
The Shrew's are strong smart women, and the men who love them respect that. My kind of story!
The Problem with Paddy AKA Pursuing Patrick introduces the Shrew's.
The Shrew's 5 women who were victims of a drug study gone wrong, and developed some super hero type abilities. Dana Slade is a former police detective turned PI and runs Shrew and Company. Her agency is hired to find a missing bar owner, Patrick O'Dwyer. When Dana finds Patrick there is an undeniable attraction. Dana finds her self using her enhanced abilities to help Patrick through is first shift into a mountian lion. Than navigating the world of were cat politics which lands the shrew's in the world of shifters and a brewing war between the were cats and bears in the Carolina Smokies. Great story, fun a little steamy with great chracters and world building. Loved Dana and Patrick

Framing Felipe
Dana sends her R hand Shrew, Sara Miller, to help a circus acrobat on the run, while the rest of the shrews are woring on the cat-bear problem. Sara is a former marine, with her enhanced abilities can track anyone. When Sara finds Felipe she learns some disturbing things about the Circus he was from and that he and his twin have some unique abilities themselves. It does not take long before a link is discovered between the Circus and the trouble with the cats, bears and other shifter groups in the area. Ends with a little cliffhanger, a great addition to the series. Loved Sara and Felipe. Really liked Astrid's brother Eric too.

Bryan's Betrayal
Tamara "Tam" Ursa or baby shrew to her sister shrews is on an side mission. Sent by Dana to locate Bryan Ridge a born bear shifter for his sister Drea. When Tam finds the big bear enforcer she is drawn into his plan to take out their Alpha Gene. Her close work with Bryan is is having some unexpected side effects that has her calling her parents. It's not long before Dana and Patrick her mate and new Alpha of the Cats along with the rest of the Shrews are pulled in to help. Tam father even send her over protective older brothers to lend a hand. Ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, Gene got a way and Astrid is still looking for Fabian, Felipe's twin who is still being held by the circus. A great addition to the series. Loved Bryan and Tam. Loved Tam's brothers Peter and Soren.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent stories, great author 12 July 2015

I love Holley Trent and picked up this series to read after I fell in love with her Afotoma and Wolf shifter series. I really enjoyed the Shrew ladies and their love interests. I like that the story lines continued on into each book without leaving huge cliff-hangers. I was a little surprised at how many grammatical errors were in this collection, though, considering her other series were practically flawless, which is why I gave this four stars instead of five. Usually, that many errors turn me off from a book, but her character development, plot lines, and storytelling style more than make up for the distraction. She has definitely risen to the top of my new favorite indie authors list! Definitely give her Afotoma and Wolf series a try; they are awesome!
5.0 out of 5 stars Taming the Shrews 15 September 2016

Loved these books, they had some freaky mutant and ware animal thing going on. I was hooked and couldn't put these books down. There's 5 bad ass ladies who under went some genetic mutations after a botched fake drug trial on them most of them got into the drug trials because of their no good boyfriends trying to make them docile. They now have a private eye/ security firm and what begins as as easy assignment turns into an all out war with some ware animals. The ladies are starting to fall fast an hard for their unusual clients ( a circus performer who turns invisible, how cool is that) while trying to clean up the mess of some sick twisted bad guys. There is violence and some hot steamy scenes in here ;) These books would make a great TV show.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shrew-& Company Books 1-3 24 June 2015

Just finished reading the 3 book trilogy and really enjoyed the stories, great characters, sexy romantic hookups between
the Shrew members and various shifters they encountered who cleverly became their intended mates. The only big problem I had with the books was apparently Ms. Trent did not have a proof reader for any of the books as there were soo many typos (as in words out of place) that it was at times painful! I wanted to get out my red pencil and start doing corrections! I am planning on getting the next book in the series but I sure hope someone got to her before it went to print to have it proof read! It's hard to believe someone who has written as many books as she has would have this kind of problem.
