I'm the kind of guy who also loves his Roomba 870, so keep that in mind. I have a preference for machines which do labor for me. If you are the kind who wants to do everything by hand, you're looking at the wrong product.
I did go through two full battery charges. It wasn't easy to use it, because the drill is heavy and this disk is 5" so there's a fair amount of torque.
At first I tried it without Softscrub, just with water, and that did not work. I believe that just about any mild abrasive agent would do the job. I wanted to use Softscrub without bleach but I couldn't find it at my local store. I don't think the bleach is important. Mild abrasive + electric drill is a physical cleaning process, not a chemical (bleaching) process. I was somewhat worried about the effect of the bleach on my enamel bathtub but I washed it off quickly and it didn't seem to do anything. This unit does splatter a little bit so the bleachy cleaner did get on my clothes and did what bleach does to them. Again, I would definitely have used the Softscrub without bleach if they had it at my local store.
I don't feel like this unit is going to last a long time. Nylon bristles will get worn out. Think of this as something you use occasionally when the buildup is too much, not as a daily cleaning tool. I have realistic expectations about how long nylon bristles will last so I'm giving this five stars, even though I expect I will only get about a dozen uses (full tub scrub out cleaning) out of it.
Pro tips: Occasionally reverse the direction on your drill, to make the bristles wear out more evenly. Also, with the unit that looks like an oversized bottle cleaner, do NOT put lateral force on the brush. Doing so will damage your drill. The bearing in a drill is not designed for lateral force.
One woman here gave this a three star review because she had a neck injury and found the whole thing to be unwieldy when cleaning over her head. Madame, you forgot to order the unit with the anti-gravity module and the strength enhancer ray emitter unit.
I have steamed cleaned my floor, used an electric floor brush and a push brush.
All of these products have done a good job but my grout have never had that new grout look.
I know the best way to achieve this is to go on my hands and knees and scrub with a brush then wipe up with a towel.
Doing this would take me such a long time, not to mention my body would be sore for days.
My husband told me about this attachment for his drill. I ordered this product and it arrived very promptly.
This product is amazing! My 10yrs old tile floor and bone colored grout looks brand new again.
It was very easy and fun to use . I cleaned my 2500ft house over a weekend.
I would give this 5 stars if there were a way to extend the length of one of the brushes (one can always dream).
Women, do you want your man to clean the shower every now and then?
If you answered yes to either question, this is the product for you!
On the practical side, this really does work. The flat brush makes quick work of the tiles including down into the grout seams, and any other flat surface.
The rounded brush gets into the corners with no problems, and will let you know it's time to replace the caulking by taking off any loose sections.
On the not so practical side, it's cleaning with power tools! What man doesn't like doing something, anything with power tools. Give a man a six pack of beer, a can of scrubbing bubbles, and a drill brush, and that shower will be sparkling in no time!
