About the Author
Dorothy Howell was inspired to write HANDBAGS AND HOMICIDE by her crazed obsession with designer purses. She lives in Southern California, where there is, thankfully, no rehab program for handbag addiction, and is hard at work on her next Haley Randolph mystery. Started out good...

...but I ended up struggling to finish it. I bought the first one in the series and really enjoyed it. Same with the second one. This one, though, was hard to follow. The continuity was horrible. One minute she was at Starbucks and the next sentence she was at her friends house?? Wait. She was just at a coffeehouse. How and when did she go to her friends house? Several scenarios like that throughout the book. It’s like she didn’t recognize the need for new paragraphs. And the author used “ as only a best friend could” and “official boyfriend” and “-long story” way too many times. I have book 4 but I’m hesitant to read it. I will, but I hope the proofreading and editing is better in #4 than it was in #3.

Haley still needs to make some adult decisons.

I think the stories are more intriguing and interesting, but Haley is still self absorbed and I still don't like her. All she cares about are designer things on part-time salary of $7.00 dollars per hour.

This is a sweet, fun read.
Why only 3 stars? The Kindle edition doesn't have any markers, a double space, stars-anything between scene changes. It was very annoying because I kept having to figure out what was going on and it took me out of the story.
I hate knocking an author's work, but when you buy a book, you buy the whole package--including formatting.
For what its worth, I intend to buy the next in the series, so I did enjoy the book to an extent.

Very lightweight series

This is the third Haley Randolph book that I have read. I was recovering from surgery and wanted some light, entertaining reading, and this series seemed to fit the bill. However, after reading the third one, I think I am probably done. They are all pretty much the same, and the main character has got to be the stupidest woman (girl, really) on earth. If you don't require much from your reading material, this series is ok.
